Good Morning.
Workouts Lately:
Friday- Got my bootie on the stairmill for 40 minutes (they were long). Sported my brand new Mizuno Wave Sayonaras to celebrate their release.
Then went on that elliptical in the background for 30 minutes. Cross country setting at a pretty difficult level. I wanted to make my time count.
Saturday-
Started the day with a very slow run to test out the hip situation.
Went for the Mizuno Inspire 9s this time to switch things up a bit. Loving these Meridian shorts and my Pro Compression low trainers a lot lately in the summer heat.
I ran with this cool RooSport belt that I got about a year ago here.
I can’t remember if I ever ran with it before, but it held my cell phone quite nicely.
Anyhoo…
There used to be a time when some Saturdays it felt like a chore to fit in a run. Sometimes I knew I just needed to log the miles for my training for the week.
Yesterday was different. I was excited to set my alarm for the early hours of the morning at the possibility to sneak out of the house while everyone was still sleeping.
Being out there all by myself was amazing. Slow, a little uncomfortable, yet, thankful for every single step.
Surprisingly excited to run up this ginormous hill (it’s bigger in person) since I hadn’t gotten the chance in over 3 months.
Slow and steady is the way to go these days.
After sucking down a quick smoothie I taught boot camp in the park.
Our ending circuit was this: rotational lunges with the sandbag, kettle bell swings, jump rope, push ups and knee repeaters on the bench. 1 minutes each and we went through twice.
A couple of random eats from the past few days.
This smoothie. Chocolate, fresh strawberries, cocoa, etc. Mmm hmm….
Full recipe posted on instagram.
Yesterday was the egg-cellent mocha smoothie with the addition of some organic kale.
The other night I made the cutest little chicken pizza to go with a huge load of zucchini pizzas.
Isn’t it cute? The finished product looked a little something like this.
Ha ha ha.
Breakfast yesterday was a scramble with egg whites (from my jug), Swiss chard and this Trader Joe’s chicken sausage.
I made a little egg on the side to top it off.
Before the sauce.
After the sauce.
He he.
It was delightful.
And in my couple of trips outside to take these pictures I managed to step in a huge plop of chicken poop. That was fun.
So, keeping up with bloggy land, emails and work is NOT easy without a laptop. But, I kept saying I needed a little break, and hey, my laptop decided to die on me. I guess it forced me on a little sabbatical. How nice, yes?
My niece introduced me to the song “This is Love” by Josh Turner and I’ve been listening to it over and over this weekend. Such a good message. The timing is perfect for right too.
Work, etc. that has to be done and usually stresses me out and takes the majority of my time and attention,
well…..
it can be done some other time.
Seriously, this song is AWESOME!
I’ve got someone who waits. I’ve actually got a few people who have been waiting for a really long time for a little extra attention.
They give my way too much attention and love all the time. They even gave my flowers just the other day at the gym.
That’s where I need to be right now. With them.
Today.
Tomorrow.
As long as it takes to really show them I love them.
With time.
Who knew a broken laptop would be a little hidden blessing.
Just like an injury.
So, friends, I “gotta run”.
I need to be with my main men today. Hopefully they’ll help me tackle a disaster of a house. (We’ve got a lot of projects all going on at the same time. That’s never fun and it’s not pretty here friends.)
They wear the gloves, but they don’t like to help. Weird.
Enjoy your day!
TIME IS LOVE!
Make it count.
This guy has already been waiting a little too long this morning. And we haven’t even made coffee yet.
We listened to the song at least 5 times together though while writing this. He’s a fan too.
Have a wonderful day!

Sooo uncomfortable b/c the hip still ached a bit?
I had an MRI about a week or so ago just to ease my mind as to why my right hip still aches every other day. Yes, still have some inflammation of my bursa but what else did I discover….I have a tear on my inner left thigh. He asked if MY groin has been hurting and I said as but I figured it was just a sore muscle maybe from compensating on my left to relieve my right hip a bit….ugh!!
Then what ?? I did boot camp Friday morning…and now I am presently icing my groin…just totally thought of you…go figure. ha!
He told me to ice and not push it so it doesn’t get worse…yea me! ;-( I will be doing yoga and water x stuff next week along with icing….oh the joy!!
Oh no Kathy!!! Any updates?
I hope you enjoy spending the day with the boys you love!
Wow! That hill looks huge! That zucchini pizza thing also looks huge and delicious 🙂
Have a great Sunday!
The boys! They melt my heart. Glad the run went so well! I was cheering you on from afar. Life has a funny way of telling us how to prioritize, doesn’t it? Enjoy your sunday
It totally does Erica. I feel like I learn something new every day.
Life is so much more important & the older you get, the more it becomes clear.. it took me way too long & feeling it now – glad you got away!
Thanks Jody and thank you for your daily reminders on IG. You are a true inspiration.
love the song, had never heard before
Enjoy your time with your boys!!!
Oh – and glad that you were able to get in a run!!
I’m glad you were able to run
3 months?! And I’ve been whining about weeks :/ Slow and steady is definitely the way it goes. 🙂
Very LONG months. Ugh. Yes, slow and steady. 🙂 Hang in there.
I love how your slow and steady is my race pace! 🙂
Oh Sheena- it just may be my new race pace from now on. 🙂 It doesn’t matter how fast you go anyway. Just that you do it, right? 🙂
🙂 exactly!
love that song too 🙂 Hope your day was great!!
Glad you were able to get a run in! Feeling healthy can so easily be taken for granted. As well as time spent with family. Enjoy it all!
What a cute little cameraman you have 🙂 Looks like a great workout and that they can enjoy working out with you too!
Sorry random question- do you hold the hand rails when doing the step mill or legs only?
Hands on the rails usually. Only light pressure though to keep me balanced.
