Good morning! Happy Sunday!
I just finished a pretty intense kabocha cutting upper body workout. It was a tough one, but now I’ve got this huge kabocha boat roasting. Hey hey.
I was just admiring my kitchen view and now am I’m sipping on this mocha.
Quick little note, since going sugar free with the whole STUFT Detox, this mocha is rather good without any sweetener. The only things in it are Starbucks espresso, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, cocoa powder, cinnamon and a splash of almond extract. Not too shabby.
Okay, so I’m so stinking excited about my new best friend I just have to share. Yeah, move over Bob (even though I miss you), there’s a new man in town. Ha ha.
Everyone talks about this little local butcher shop. I’ve known it was there for awhile, but had never been myself. For the past three weeks or so, it’s been the topic of conversation at boot camp while we’re doing burpees. Ha ha. My friends informed me that this place had organic chicken and habanero carne asada. That was it. I decided I need to make the trip.
I’ve never been to an actual butcher shop before, but let’s just say that I will be a frequent customer at my newly discovered Kennedy’s Karne.
I bought some habanero chicken, habanero carne asada and some organic chicken breasts.
Instead of quietly taking my purchases and leaving the store like a normal person, I waved my blogger freak flag high and started checking everything out and chatting it up.
I got too busy chatting and didn’t take pictures in the store, but I will be back soon for a photo shoot. Ha ha.
I did meet a new best friend, Mark, though. He took really good care of me, didn’t seem to mind about my freak flag and made sure I was well stocked to feed the whole STUFT family Kennedy fiesta style. He even let me take some pictures. Pants off. Pants on. LOL.
So, the goods I stocked up on.
Fresh guacamole and three different kinds of salsa.
That “Fire Salsa” is to die for. LOVE it!
Cilantro and onion. (A must with carne asada according to STUFT Daddy.)
A few chilies.
The meat- habanero chicken, habanero carne asada and some organic chicken breasts.
Fresh tortillas and empanadas.
Yep. Fiesta time!!!
STUFT Daddy grilled up all the meat.
I cut up all the fixings.
Then we feasted. Pretty much anything and everything went on my plate as usual. I made some roasted carrots and roasted jicama chips to go with it all too.
And we had to try all the different salsas of course.
Okay, enough stinking pictures of my plate, but let me just tell you, everything was so good. The best meal we’ve had in a long time. I’m already excited about leftovers.
Oh, and no fiesta is complete without a few party crashers.
(Yep, on the deck every single night.)
Oh,and a special dessert for the kiddos.
It was one heck of a party.
It will be happening again soon. I’m so excited.
To my new friends at Kennedy’s Carne Asada, consider yourself warned. This is just the beginning. He he.
*oh, and I just realized you can order their delicious meat online. What? That’s just awesome.
Okay, I’m off. I’ve got a short little date with the treadmill and a spinning class to teach.
Ever been to a butcher shop to buy meat?
Do you prefer chicken or carne when you eat Mexican food? (I usually prefer chicken, but the carne last night was AMAZING.)
