Taught a spin class. Same old songs. I should change things up a bit. LOL.
5 miles on the treadmill at home a little later. Oh, how I’ve missed my treadmill. I can’t remember the last time I was on it so it was like a little reunion.
Oh hey, see that ironing board in the picture? It’s been used like once. Just thought you should know. And yes, in fact, it is not easy to watch TV on that old school TV from far away, but I make it work.
Besides that though, things are looking up with the whole running after my injury thing.
I switched up the days with my training plan to do the long run Friday, so my workout yesterday was 4 miles.
I ran 5 miles only because that’s how far I went while I watched a Gossip Girl episode. It was super sweaty, but pretty much pain free. Yippee!
1st mile at 8:20, miles 2-3 at 8:00 and miles 4-5 at 7:47.
Just a side note, but I love, love, love my training plan and all the guidance I’m getting from the Runner’s World Challenge and their team of experts and coaches. It’s so nice having a plan in place with an end goal in sight and some experts to help me modify the plan as needed, especially now at the beginning. Goodness knows I need a little direction and guidance. I am one happy camper.
I’ve got a post coming up this week with some upcoming race news and such (yeah, I actually have a couple on the schedule), but I’m waiting until I know for sure about a few, so more on all that later. But, if you have a particular race you’re training for and want a plan to follow, join the Runner’s World Challenge team with me anytime. You’ll get your own plan (plus coaching and access to RW experts on training, nutrition, and injury prevention) and then we can be “Challenge Buddies”. Wouldn’t that be fun? He he.
That early morning kabocha workout from yesterday paid off and I made the hugest cold kabocha boat yet.
Let’s move on to one heck of an amazing giveaway for you, yes?
It is AMAZING.
All thanks to JayBird.
I got some wireless headphones from Jaybird recently to test out and review.
I know, right? Wireless headphones. Who knew? I’m pretty behind the times on cool fitness gadgets like this, so obviously I was really excited to test these out.
They sent me the BlueBuds X. Their micro-sized Bluetooth headphones.
Just a little added bonus they come with a cool case. He he.
Some awesome features on these guys: a secure fit for sports, controls on the cord, wireless and a lifetime warranty against sweat.
Here are a few additional things about these BlueBuds X headphones.
So many great things all in little micro fitted buds.
I’m always a little hesitant when trying headphones. I have teeny tiny ears and most generic buds don’t stay in and fall out when I run. These particular ones have two different options on how to wear them: under the ear or over the ear for a more secure fit.
I figured I’d have to do the over the ear thing, but would try out the regular fit first since they come with different sizes of both the ear cushions and the eartips.
Obviously I went for the smallest size.
The directions were simple and the guide was very easy to follow as far as assembly and fitting, etc.
Thank goodness because I mess things up a lot.
I had those buds fitted in my ears in no time.
The buds were snug and the little ear cushion tucked in quite nicely even in my tiny ears. (Yes, toddler photo bombing happens a lot around here. It’s a good thing there isn’t audio. Ha.)
I got them synced with my iPhone, which again was a really easy thing thank goodness. I’m generally not good with Bluetooth and new technology type things, but the easiness of everything sure made me feel like I was.
I wore them on my long run the other day and they surprisingly didn’t budge the entire time.
I immediately noticed how great the sound was. I mean great. I listened to my running playlist (which conveniently is the same for my spin classes). It was also so nice not having to fumble around with a cord the entire time. Isn’t a cord annoying?
I haven’t used them to talk on my phone just yet, but I’m waiting for that special call so I can. Ha ha.
Seriously though, my phone time is limited with my kiddos, but the directions are very easy to follow with the remote on the cord and answering the phone, etc. I’m anxious to try it out.
Oh, one last thing I forgot to mention is that they have 8 hours of play time. That is a lot, yes?
Let’s just say I’m in love with my little “buds” for so many reasons.
Seriously though, these are the best headphones I’ve ever used. They’ve got Bluetooth, great sound, remote control, a perfect fit, they stay put, there’s no attachment cord to worry about and you even adjust them to fit snug around the back of your head.
Yep. The boys already know that they better keep their hands off mama’s new special headphones.
It’s time to #poweryourpassion friends.
Here’s what’s in it for you.
One lucky winner will get a pair of these very same Jaybird BlueBuds X headphones that retail for over $160.
