Snapshots from the First Day of the IDEA Fitness Conference

Hello everyone!

I need to go to bed like no other right now. In fact, I’m fairly certain I just did my own dream feed (you know, like they do with babies) with some room service.

Although I di feel pretty darn cool ordering room service and eating it in my pajamas. That’s what you’re supposed to do, right?

Kale salad with grilled chicken and a side of grilled asparagus.

I always get my dressing on the side and obviously I had a few things stashed in one of my bazillion bags to spice things up a bit.

Ha ha.

Followed it up with a little chocolate chip cookie dough Quest Bar action for dessert.

There may have been not only one, but two Starbucks stops earlier today for an Americano. The first one was on my walk to the Convention Center. I conveniently spotted that Starbucks right when I was thinking that If I didn’t get one in about 5 minutes someone might get hurt. So it was perfect timing.

I have a feeling there might be more than one stop tomorrow too.

So yeah, the IDEA World Fitness Convention is seriously the hugest, coolest convention ever for fitness professionals and anyone who just loves fitness actually.

I’m having a blast being here representing Reebok and FitFluential.

I learned some great new exercises and got to hang out with some pretty amazing people today.

I finally got to meet Julie from Peanut Butter Fingers and we also met Megan who works with Reebok.

Um, yeah, we have some fabulous Reebok workout gear to wear all weekend. Not that I’m biased or anything, but the Reebok booth at the expo is pretty much the best one too.

They have dancers/models.

They also 25% off all their clothes and shoes, plus they have cool workouts throughout the day.

(If you’re a fitness pro and join Reebok One you can get 25% off all the time.)

I tried to do this dance workout for about 5 minutes before I embarrassed the heck out of myself. I stopped just before Reebok made me take off their gear. Just kidding (I think).

Have I ever told you I’ve been told multiple times that it looks like I’m in pain when I dance?

I must look super stiff. Maybe I’ll just blame my hip dysplasia. Ha ha.

Push ups and boot camp type workouts are more my thing.

I got to do this fun one at the expo with Shannon.

Oh, and then we got coffee.

photo 2

Funny how that worked out.

Lots more to come since there’s so much to share about the event, the expo and all, but this old lady needs her sleep and there’s still 3 more days of all this fitness jazz.

I also desperately need to do my nails, but sleep is more important at the moment.

I’m meeting my twin in the morning for a quick little run before all the madness of day 2 starts.

And, just in case you’re wondering, some people (including myself) still dig doing step.

What’s your class preference- dance, boot camp or step aerobics?

Have you ever had room service in your pajamas?

Do you travel with your own condiments?

Looks like you girls are having so much fun! I used to take step, haven’t in a long long time. I sometimes take dance jam at my gym and the occasional kickboxing class….I absolutely travel with my necessary food items. I used to laugh at the “old” people that came with their own food when I was younger but now that I am one of those old and odd people, I understand lol.

So so fun!!! Love the photos and so glad that you got to meet up with so many great folks. Funny – I pulled out a bottle of Choula last night and thought of you. True story.

Looks like fun! Haha don’t worry, I can’t dance either. 😉 I love bootcamp classes best! Step is fun too though!

Looks like you are getting to do lots of fun things- and keep caffeine intake high (my kinda gal!)

I don’t do a lot of classes (typically just do my own workouts) but if I do it’s spin or bootcamp style workouts. Definitely a good way to mix things up and keep it fun!

I always have splenda packets in my purse…and cocoa via packets…

    The conference looks so fun!
I’m a big bootcamp fan myself – my favorite bootcamp style class I’ve done was a TRX/Kettlebell blend. Super intense but very fun.
If I order room service I’m always in my pajamas…gotta take advantage of being comfortable!

That room service salad looks good! I don’t know if its really considered a condiment but I always have a jar or packets of nut butter with me. People tend to look at me strange as I shovel it into my mouth or on top of just about anything but oh well!

I so love it when I see my favorite bloggers all meeting up at the same places!

I love me some BodyPump….and I’ve been known to do a little Turbokickboxing every now & again. 🙂

Room service is such a treat! Some days you just need to spend $40 on a pot of coffee and English muffin. Hahaha! 🙂

I LOVE step aerobics! My favorite class by far. I run, do group power classes (like body pump) and step and I will choose step every time!

I have had room service when I’ve been too tired to go out, but never in my pj’s. I like room service it is such a fun treat.

Of course you are supposed to eat room service food in your pj’s!! I don’t know that I ever have, as I don’t stay in hotels all that often….but I am sure if I ever ordered, I’d be in my pj’s!! Looks like you are having a great time. I love you & Monica’s matching outfits 🙂 I actually really want that top! It’s awesome.
I prefer boot camp type classes. I can’t dance.

Is Cholula your favorite sauce? I only have Cholula, but am thinking about ordering some Scotty B’s. Which Scotty B’s do you like best?

I hope I see your smile in person!

    I love those striped tanks!
I prefer spin or boot camp…it seems like once I catch on to the rhythm of step, she’s doing a new step!

  14. 14

I much prefer bootcamp classes. I have zero rhythm!

Thanks for sharing your photos! I’m going tomorrow for the Epic Dance Encounter. Can’t wait to get my dance workout on.

Running Bootcamp and Step are my faves! Looks like a fun convention.

Looks like you are having an amazing time! Room service is best when you are in jammies!!! (especially if there is a glass of wine, too!)
I like boot camp, step, kick-boxing – pretty much anything that isn’t too dancy – I have zero rhythm!!

The conventional looks amazing! Wish they had them in Canada for us Canadian bloggers.
