Taught boot camp.
Used some of these moves and I’m pretty sure everyone loved them. (Or hated them, it’s a toss up.)
Did a slow 3.5 mile jog around the park afterwards.
Happy Saturday friends!
Hope your weekend is treating you well.
Went to the America’s Finest City expo yesterday afternoon to work at the Halo Headband booth for a bit. I totally had butterflies in my stomach just going to a race expo. It was just weird. There have been at least five expos over the past five months that I’ve avoided because I knew I couldn’t run and didn’t want to be around the whole running thing. I’m still just a bit unsettled about it. I dressed up in bright Pro Compression socks and fancy Mizuno shoes to calm my nerves.
And wore my favorite shirt and cool necklaces.
The expo might have been small, but the view outside was amazing.
Both of them are seriously so darn nice and both of them are running the half marathon tomorrow. Rock stars.
Oh, and Melissa won a Mezamashii Contest recently and got a pair of the Mizuno Limited Edition Wave Rider 16 30th Anniversary Runbird shoe. (That’s a mouthful isn’t it?) I got to see those babies up close and personal.
They and my Wave Ascend shoes were fast friends obviously.
Quick side note- the Wave Ascend is Mizuno’s trail running shoe.
I got them awhile back from Mizuno when I got that “I Run” shirt too.
For the runner who is looking for a shoe that can not only get them to the trail comfortably, but allow them to Grip It and Rip It when they get there.
X-OUTSOLE pattern optimizes multi-directional traction to meet the demands of unpredictable trail surfaces.
AP+ MIDSOLE offers unique durability and increased rebound to propel you and your trail run forward.
Offers increased traction, assurance and grip regardless of terrain.
I hadn’t worn them until yesterday (I wanted to really look snazzy for the first running expo after being out for 4 months).
They were so comfortable though that I did a little 3.5 shake out run this morning after boot camp in them.
First time I’d run on any sort of trail in probably 4 years. Liked the shoes. Not sure if I’m a fan of trail running.
Back to the expo.
The Halo Headband booth at expos always makes me smile. Maybe it’s these guys.
Ha ha ha.
Yeah, I have a thing for mannequins.
Seriously though, obviously I love all the Halo products, so it was fun working with Fernanda for a bit.
And they had the new “slim” headband there that hasn’t officially been released yet.
I got my hands on a couple. And a few stickers.
Other things I got my hands on at the expo yesterday were a few Larabar samples from these guys.
Thank goodness for good samples, right? This one was consumed about 5 seconds after I left the booth.
I got a few other new ones to try though too. I keep seeing them around, but haven’t gotten the chance to test them out.
I also got a new RooSport.from the fabulous Brenda.
I got the large one that can fit my phone and some gels and even my key. I think I’m going to try to wear it in the race tomorrow. We’ll see.
I also got some BioAstin.
I’ve never seen it before. The cute Jen told me about all the benefit: the antioxidant properties, how it supports healthy immune health, and how it helps with joint and tendon health.
Does anyone take this? Or have you heard about it?
Oh, and for some reason they were giving away boxes of Zico coconut water.
Yeah, I know. Awesome. I helped them out since Joaquin loves the stuff.
I got out of the expo pretty late.
Got home just in time to read “God’s Book” to my favorite men.
Love ending the night that way.
You know what else I love to do?
Show you just some random things I’ve eaten today. I’ve been eating all day, it must be nerves, but here are a few fun ones.
A grain free microwave English muffin with coconut butter and blueberries.
Yes, you read that right. Roasted nectarines. Topped with cinnamon. Delicious.
And, you know what else I really love to do?
Give things away to you.
I was sporting my new fashion statement thing yesterday and I’m probably doing something similar tomorrow.
I’m not totally sure yet. About anything actually, what I’m wearing, what I’m doing, what I’m using as fuel, etc. I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I’m running a race. NOT RACING, but just using it as my long run for the week. Hopefully making some new friends, hitching a ride, being on time for once, being careful with my hip, all that fun stuff.
I have something to give to you.
Oops. Not that. Those pictures are freebies from Kitty. Ha ha.
THIS is what I have for you.
I’ll send them to one winner.
All you have to do is leave me a comment here. Answer any of these questions (or all of them if you feel like it).
Do you ever do trail runs?
What is your favorite part about race expos?
What kind of fruit (if any) do you like to roast?
