Check out this telescope we found at the playground the other day.
You know you want one.
You know you want a pretty cool tail too.
Oh, and a venti Starbucks café Americano. Ha ha.
Yeah, we’re bringing the tail back in style.
Actually, no matter how we get Joaquin’s hair cut, he always has a little tail like that. It’s just gotten worse the last week or so. Maybe I should try to braid it or something. Now THAT would be cool.
How stoked is he though if the tail look ever comes back in style?
I’m pretty sure it was in style when I was in second grade. I remember my “boyfriend” having one. Yeah, that’s right, I had a boyfriend in second grade. His name was Chris and he had a heck of a tail.
Oh, and I don’t know about your playground, but our favorite one around here even has a snack shack.
You place your order.
They deliver right to your seat.
You don’t even need a number or anything.
What else went down the other day?
We randomly found some great “Bountiful Bargains”.
There were so many good kabochas (good rings and all). I stocked up.
Despite stocking up, I still went for a pretty marvelous spaghetti squash concoction at home since I already had some roasted and in the fridge.
I did roast some up yesterday though- sweetener free, cinnamon cocoa style (like a roasted kabocha boat).
Didn’t look that pretty, but I managed to capture a photo bombing chicken so the picture was worth sharing.
Other food I ate yesterday that didn’t look pretty was my turkey bacon and spinach STUFT egg-rito.
While I’m at it, I’ll just show you my hideous shorts from my run yesterday morning too.
Jessica said on instagram that at first look she thought the picture was a head of lettuce. Pretty darn funny.
Um, yes, I have a super old commercial treadmill at home. It’s rusty and loud. But, it has a pretty new belt and is supposed to run for another 10 years or so.
I love it and I love the convenience of having it at home. No excuses.
My rule for running on it though (which I probably only do about once a week) is that I have to wear a horrible outfit that I wouldn’t wear out in public.
I’m not kidding. You’re really lucky I didn’t take a picture of my top. Ha.
I do wear cute shoes though.
(Complete with the race tag from Sunday. It’s staying on there until my next race. That’s how I try to be cool.)
Please tell me I’m not the only one who works out at home in awful outfits.
I like to think of it as not only saving time, but saving laundry too. Ha ha.
Yesterday I timed my run so I could watch a little Kelly and Michael.
Does anyone else like really like them? They are darn funny together and Kelly Ripa is just so cute. I would like to be like her someday.
I ran 5.555 miles at an easy pace.
Had to teach a couple classes last night and I have my longest run yet post injury today, so we’ll see how that goes. Dang I’m a bit nervous already.
I was thinking that I may have to stop making you suffer through countless pictures of random eats every day. It takes up too much time (for all of us) and it’s pretty much the same thing.
I’ll just try to highlight the good stuff from now on.
Like this mid morning snack yesterday.
The easiest no grain microwave muffin ever topped with coconut butter and a mixture of sliced strawberries, Penzey’s cinnamon and chia. (Similar to toddler chia jam, but without any sugar or sweetener.)
I will refrain from showing you unappetizing pictures like these of my dessert last night.
A cinnamon and cocoa roasted plantain with cinnamon roasted figs.
Enjoyed while blogging on the couch late at night with some Ghirardelli dark chocolate.
I’m sure it was just bad lighting. Kidding.
Oh well, it was darn delicious and roasted plantains just might be my new thing.
Since I have a long run with my training plan today, thought I’d share some running articles.
Here’s a really great short article by my friend, Runner’s World editor Jen Van Allen.
Numbers 1 and 6 are my favorites- it makes you happier and adds years to your life.
And here is the Mizuno shoe guy answering a few great questions.
Have a great weekend!
If things are quiet here it’s because I’ll be too tired after my first long run attempt and/or these guys have my attention.
How precious is that picture?
