A Gratitude Run, Sunday Snail Mail and NuttZo News

Hello!

We were off to a nice slow start this morning. I don’t know what happened, but both boys slept in for a change. What a great gift, yes?

It gave me a chance to slow down the day.

IMG_7251

Loved this reading today too. So funny how they always seem to be appropriate to what I’m going through.

IMG_7250

I’ve still been a little out of balance since Friday’s scorcher of a run. With my MCM training plan I should have run 10 miles with 8 of them at MP today.

That didn’t happen, but I did feel okay enough to hop on the treadmill at home for a run. I wasn’t that motivated, but wanted to stretch out my legs just a bit since yesterday was a rest day.

As soon as I started running I felt extremely grateful for so many things. So, my 7 miles ( .5 warm up mile and then 5.5 at 7:30 pace with 1 mile slow cool down) on the treadmill this morning turned into a little gratitude run.

Among others, the things I was particularly grateful for this morning were:

My rusty, loud, heavy, old treadmill that I almost sold five years ago.

IMG_7252

My running favorites: Mizuno, Pro Compression and Halo Headband. No run feels complete without them.

IMG_7254

The old fan that’s barely hanging on, but gets the job done.

IMG_7255

Our old school TV that I can barely see (or hear) from the treadmill.

IMG_7256

Old Gossip Girl episodes from Netflix. (Yes, I know I’m probably way too old to be excited about them.)

IMG_7257

And, whelp, just the ability to be able to run pain free. Such a blessing and a gift.

IMG_7258

I know some of you have been asking about an injury update on my hip, so I’ll write one later this week. I’m actually in awe of how well it’s been doing so I’m a little hesitant to talk about it. Don’t want to jinx it or anything. Ha.

We surprised Grandma and Papap at church earlier. I got all dressed up in my Handful Bra and all.

IMG_7266

Those Handful Bras, really, can be worn for anything: working out, sleeping, date night, casual around the house or even church. He he.

Smile

Speaking of Handful, we finally took a look at all the fun mail we’ve gotten this past week.

Our Sunday Snail Mail.

Yes, I know the mail does not come on Sundays, but when you let it all sit around and pile up for the week, well, then it either feels like Christmas on Sunday and/or a day you pay quite a lot of bills.

For us, well, it’s both.

Anyhoo….

We’ve gotten some really fun things this week so had to share. Snail mail and packages are just the best, aren’t they?

The new Handful Made in the USA bras are finally out with the new green and orange colors.

IMG_0496IMG_0497

Dang the orange would have looked so much better with my church outfit that the white one I had on. Beavis.

Seriously love everything about Handful and their “girls’ club” and their bra pads are the BEST.

IMG_0501

The wonderful people at Oloves sent me some products to sample.

IMG_0475

Olives in a single serving bag? Yes please. Obviously super excited about this particular spicy one.

IMG_0476IMG_0477

I haven’t gotten a chance to try them out yet, but who doesn’t like olives right? I better add these to my next zucchini pizzas.

I don’t think they’re too easy to find in the US as I haven’t seen them anywhere, but I know they sell them on Amazon (I just found them here).

I know I mentioned these a little while ago, but Love Grown Foods has a new Super Oats product.

IMG_0479

So awesome, right? Gluten free, no sweetener added (you can add your own), tons of nuts and seeds, you name it. They’re just super.

Check out the ingredients.

IMG_0483

They don’t come out until October, but be on the lookout for them and a pretty awesome giveaway for them and some other fun Love Grown Foods stuff in the next couple of weeks.

Not sure if you’ve ever heard of Swanson Health Products, but I was able to order some really fun things from their website with store credit that was gifted to me.

They have all kinds of products: vitamins, supplements, organic foods, natural bath/beauty products, eco-friendly cleaners, etc. I was also very impressed with their low prices.

They have some good sales and deals going on pretty much all the time and shipping is not only speedy, but only $4.99.

And, not that I’m biased or anything because Mom is from North Dakota, but the company is too. I knew we’d be fast friends.

I used my gift credit to order a bunch of my Artisana favorites.

IMG_0484

I Haven’t had the cashew butter or walnut butter around for awhile, so it was time to restock.

IMG_0486

And love single serve packaging for traveling or to shove in my gym bag for long teaching days.

If you haven’t tried Artisana Cocoa Bliss by the way, well, you’re missing out.

IMG_0489IMG_0487

I may have to toss one of those babies in my belt for my next long run. Ha.

I also ordered some of this Organic Ghee Clarified Butter. A lot of paleo recipes call for it and I’ve never used it before, I just keep using coconut oil for anything and everything.

Time to give ghee a little test though, huh?

IMG_0493IMG_0495IMG_0494

The purest form of butter you can get? Okay.

Speaking of butter and cooking oil, etc. I found this information on the top 12 cooking oils on their website too.

Healthy Cooking Oils

Swanson Vitamins created this infographic and the Guide to Healthy Cooking Oils.

There are quite a few oils on there I’ve never used. I guess I need to broaden my horizons.

Oh and hey, isn’t it always fun when you get a coupon in your package? He he.

IMG_0492

Speaking of coupons and discounts, I have a little something for you.

Yep.

A little discount on one of my favorites.

I bet you can guess what it is.

Wait, let me give you a little hint.

Remember this jar?

Oops, I’m just now figuring out I never posted it on the blog, only on instagram. Well, here you go.

IMG_7063

Yep. My favorite thing- NuttZo. And having an almost empty jar of it is always bittersweet. I get excited to come up with something fun to do with it, but I’m so sad to see another jar gone so soon.

IMG_7060

This particular jar went out in style. I made a sweetener free mix between low calorie almond milk ice cream and banana soft serve (subbed in a frozen banana and a little extra almond milk when blending instead of using any artificial sweeteners).

IMG_7064

It was the perfect way to finish off that jar.

Okay, so I would like to officially announce that I am now a NuttZo Ambassador.

Woot woot! I’m so proud. Ha.

I got a little welcome package that included a couple jars of my favorite peanut free NuttZo

IMG_0516

and the creamy batch “one of each”.

IMG_0508

Oops, wait, that chocolate one is crunchy isn’t it? My favorite thing to make with NuttZo is a batch of these NuttZo Doughtzel Balls,

IMG_0057IMG_0060

but the boys were pretty fast today to remind me that NuttZo goes really well one it’s own with “bananas”.

IMG_0507
Yes, they go together very well and yes, those are “bananas” that were apparently from “ Farmer Dan”.

There were quite a few around this afternoon during the photo shoot.

IMG_0503

These guys were busy.

IMG_0505IMG_0506

They were also already eyeing the chocolate flavor.

IMG_0515IMG_0510

What’s in it for you?

Well, I’ll be coming up with a lot more recipes and ways to put this stuff to good use, but more importantly, you can get 15% off from the NuttZo website on any orders anytime using code STUFT-15.

nuttzoSTUFTdiscount

That’s kind of fun isn’t it?

A certain someone is thrilled.

IMG_0519

Smile

Okay, well, I’ve been doing a ton of roasting (and burning) over the past few days, but I’ll share all that later. Some fun stuff though.

Here’s a teaser.

IMG_0472

Mmm hmm….

Have a great start to your week!

What’s one thing you were grateful for over the weekend?

Hmm, as far as fun mail….a couple weeks ago I got some halo headbands….this past week I got the royal blue PRO compression socks. Still waiting for my RW challenge stuff (the shirt & book) Guess I better check on it again! :)

Grateful for all this information … nice post. (recently found out a lot of my issues are due to a yeast imbalance…hopefully not a forever allergy thing but a temporary food change is happening NOW) I am curious about trying a few of these items for sure!

And I LOVE THE ORANGE HANDFUL!!! Happy Fall to me? ;-)

I was grateful for my kids and all their activities this weekend! I love that they are active, healthy and involved.
Can I ask why you order both xs and s in the bras? Was thinking about trying them out.

      STUFT Mama says:

Adrienne- I actually didn’t order different sizes so I’m not sure why they came like that. I’m an ambassador so I think they sent me both to try out. :) I do have some in both sizes though. If I’m just lounging around the house I like small, but it I’m running or doing high intensity stuff I like XS. :)

Oh wow, tons of yummy treats there! I loved the slow down challenge. I need to be so much more mindful of that.

  5. 5

My husband would love those single serve olives! He is obsessed with olives. I am not a big fan but buy them for him! It is amazing how great running pain free feels! When you have been dealing with different issues when you have a run that is pain free it just makes you so happy! That’s how yesterday’s (and hopefully today’s!) runs were for me!

Sara- I know, right? It’s like I was taking advantage of it before. Now I know it’s a gift to be able to run pain free. :) PS- olives are cheap at Trader Joe’s (for your hubby).

I tried the crunchy chocolate nuttzo and it is great. I just tried to use your code to order a 3 pack of creamy which is on sale for $1 less, but it says your code is not valid on sale items, in case anybody else tries.

    elizabeth says:

I tried the handful bra and it was comfortable, but the pads seemed to big for me in size M, I wonder if small pads work for the medium bra size?

Wow, lotsa’ good stuff! :) I’m grateful for my family. I made a little trip to see my grandfather this weekend, and though I don’t see him nearly as much as I should, it’s still nice that he’s there!

  12. 12

You look so pretty in that pic with the boys! Had to say that. And also I want to read this book. Seems so good and I love that quote from it you shared.

  13. 13

I love cooking with coconut oil but haven’t tried any of the healthier oils on the list. I haven’t tried cashew butter but I’m sure like most nut butters it’s probably wonderful. Of course excited to see the discount code for nutzo! I have been wanting to try it for a long time but it just isn’t in my grad school budget… Maybe now I can convince myself it is!

  14. 14

What an awesome post, Kristin! I always love reading about your adventures. Great job keeping your blog genuine and real while introducing us to cool products and gear! xoxo – Eli

I love Nuttzo. I eat it every day.
Learned about it from you! Thanks!! I crave it when I don’t have it:)
I discovered ghee a few months ago. I buy grass fed organic from Amazon. I love it.
It tastes and smells delicious. OMG, on top of a yam or spaghetti squash? Heaven

  21. 21

Uh… I’m trying to guess what’s on top of that last picture but I really have no idea. Coconut? First I thought it looked like roasted mushrooms but then I though “nah” that’s just TOO weird. Haha.

How exciting about being a Nuttzo ambassador. After reading her story that is definitely a company that I could get behind!

My parents love using ghee! They just make their own at home: Buy organic butter sticks, put them in a glass container, pop them in the oven at 300 degrees for an hour and then skim of the top. Easy peasy :)

      STUFT Mama says:

Isn’t Danielle from NuttZo’s story the best? Love her. Just posted what the picture was. Roasted mushrooms- I’ve done that before, but not cinnamon style like the coconut. LOL. I never knew that’s how you made ghee. I though it was just a different kind of butter. Your parents are smart. ;)

  22. 22

You are one lucky lady with all those packages of goodness – too many too count! :) I luv the peanut free Nuttzo too – the crunchy is my fav! :) Congrats!!! Send me some balls! ;)

I also hear you on balance in life – so tough! Got to try though & you seem to be doing good!!!

I am grateful for my cookies this past weekend AND the AC we searched out!

    Mari says:

Ghee, organic feta and salsa. Amazing

  24. 24

So glad to hear that you are running pain free! But I won’t say it too loudly so I won’t jinx it :-)
I love Artisana coconut butter. It’s like crack. I can’t get enough of it. And I just received my new green Handful in the mail!! So excited. L.O.V.E. it.
