Sometimes Decisions Are Made For You

Right?

Like when you think you need to catch up on a lot of work on a Sunday and your internet access is down.

Or you want to share some pictures and write a blog post, but your phone and computer are both deciding to be stubborn and nothing is working.

Or when your body wants one more day to rest after a relatively easy week and only wants to wear pajamas (yes, even after the morning treadmill run and yes, even when you have friends over) and not want to leave the house on a Sunday.

Yep.

These were all pretty much decided for me today, and instead of trying to fight them, I just decided to roll with them.

I’ve been resting and sleeping like crazy this past week. I’m getting pretty good at it actually, so it might be a little rough trying to get back into the swing of things this week. I had to hang on to it for one more day before it’s time to step it up to get ready for Mizuno Marathon Mezamashii Week. It’s all about Monday. Isn’t it always? Ha.

Dang technological things that always find the right time to just NOT work. My phone wasn’t working for a good majority of the day and we had no internet access at home.

I meant to post my little celebratory picture for National Coffee Day around 10:00 am. It didn’t post until about 4:00 pm. Fabulous.

Oh well, I have to say it was quite nice though NOT being able to connect to the internet or use my phone. I should do that on purpose more often. Maybe every Sunday? Hmmmm….

So, we had some friends over for a little play date (first time in probably a year) today and then had a picnic inside.

And well, while some decisions are made for you, sometimes some decisions and poor planning are all my fault.

We ventured out to Costco Friday for all the necessities (primarily toilet paper).

I went without a list. Dangerous and dumb.

I bought the wrong kind of ink for the printer and while we finally don’t have to ration our toilet paper in the house, now we are out of laundry detergent. Nice.

There is always something, right?

Highlights of the trip were finding out that Costco now carries organic apples. Cool, huh? Fuji are our favorites.

We also found this little green mix we’re pretty excited about.

The samples saved the day as usual.

Date night Friday night looked a little something like this.

Modern Family on the couch while eating fish tacos and cassava “fries” wit guacamole.

Modern Family is pretty much the only TV we watch together. It’s a “date night” thing.

Best show ever though. Hey, recognize the shirt?

Ha ha. (From the second day of school.)

Since the boys were looking all slick after their haircuts Saturday we checked out a new place in town called Swami’s Café.

I went with the Veggie Rama without cheese and added jalapeños.

photo 3

I pretty much order the same thing every time we go out to breakfast. I always think I might try something different, but then I get whatever veggie omelet type thing they have.

The boys do too. They go for pancakes though.

photo 2

We were pretty impressed.

Had a little family party Saturday night. Not a bad view from our in-laws’ house, huh?

I know, I’m jealous too.

Andrew finally approved a picture of us I could share.

And Joaquin, well, he did his normal dessert thing.

photo 2

I wonder where he gets that? Ha ha.

Earlier today I did the new unsweetened mocha, but added extra chocolate and drank it cold.

photo 3

My pre roasted kabocha boat plate was egg whites scrambled in coconut oil with spinach and Trader Joe’s peppered turkey bacon.

photo 4

I’m loving this combo lately.

I didn’t take any kabocha pictures, but I will tell you that I finished off a jar of almond butter AND peanut free NuttZo today with my squash. That wasn’t really part of the plan, but it happens.

Smile

Okay, off to tackle a few things before the new week officially starts. It’s the last day of September. Holy Smokes.

How was your weekend?

Do you always order the same thing when you go out to eat?

What show are you most excited about right now? Obviously ours is Modern Family, but I’m also really excited about Biggest Loser. I think it starts in a couple weeks. I should ask my man Bob, huh? Ha.

I do and I don’t…..that makes sense huh? Depends on my mood…like everything in my life and lately the mood has been weird!

I took my girls out Saturday night…just us…and told them they could pick the place and there only request was that we go “some where different”….we ended up a WORLD Buffet (Chinese buffet place….haven’t done a buffet in years…but sadly we made up for lost time and left fuller than full) Although, happily we tried new things such as duck, mussel, some funny chicken on a stick, seafood mini pancake, and of course cream cheese wontons! YUM!

That omelet looks good! I usually order the veggie omelet at breakfast places, too. Or some other vegetarian omelet. My favorite is with nuts, caramelized onions and Gorgonzola cheese at a place in Oregon. SO GOOD!

Sometimes the best thing to do is listen to your body and go with it. Good for you for taking rest when you need it. Your food and weekend look AMAZING! Nothing is better than a weekend full of family and food 🙂

I really need a week of catching up on sleep like that! I’m feeling so sleep deprived it’s not even funny. Sometimes I love when those decisions are made for me… It’s rolling with them that’s the hard part.

I usually order the same thing when I go out. I hate ordering something new, hating it and wasting money, ha ha

And the weekend was good. I was at Lake Tahoe with my church young adult group. We had a house/cabin, went out to the sand beach at the lake, and did standup paddling. It was so great!

I am so excited about Revenge and Nashville being back on! I always think I want pancakes when I go to brunch, but then I chicken out and get an omelet instead. Is there a Swami’s up in Solona Beach, because there was a great breakfast place that I always went to. Love good Costco finds.

I usually try new stuff when we eat out – I prefer trying new places, too but we are pretty limited here in Topeka!!! Glad you had a fairly relaxing day – you needed it – you are always on the go!!!

I think sometimes we just need to listen & rest… I have been sleeping thru the alarm the past 3-4 times which might mean something! 😉 Not usual for me cause it is loud! I just incorporated it into the dream & went on sleeping!

Glad you rested! Love the pics!

WE have so many fall shows we love including Modern family! We DVR it all so we can watch together & I have some of my own & so does hubby. The trick is when to watch! 😉

I love modern family too!!! Also, Revenge just got started up again which I’m excited about as well! Your treats and eats always look so amazing!!!! That turkey bacon egg combo is something I will hopefully be able to try soon!! Also, yes I usually order the same thing at restaurants! try to switch it up but then I may not like it, so I end up getting what I usually get because I know that I’ll like it!

I bought some plantains, but they’re green and hard, do I wait until they turn yellow before I roast them? I thought you said something about using them green?
