Thursday News

Happy Thursday! Woo hoo!

Had one of those mornings when I woke up and couldn’t figure out what day it was, where I had to be or when, etc. Aren’t those the best? Ha.

I did manage to go to bed at 10:00 pm last night (even though I couldn’t fall asleep) and get up early to start my day the way I plan to with my One Small Change Challenge.

Well, I had company who was particularly whiny before 6 am. I told him that mama just needed a few quiet minutes to read her devotional. You know what he did?

“Wait Mom, let me go get my “God’s book””.

Gotta love that.

My reading today was a great one too.

When things feel out of control- give thanks. Easy to say, not the easiest to do.

Workouts lately:

Yesterday taught spin and then ran 7 miles on the treadmill.

Pretty much looked like I peed my pants and had to get a big girl towel instead of a little one.

And yes, if you must know I ran errands right afterwards without showering or anything. I’m classy like that.

This morning went for a quick 6 mile run after dropping the boys at school. I think my pace was around an 8 minute mile. The hills just weren’t fun today.

Some news to share with you first. You know, since I feel like it’s my job to pass along random things that are happening and all. Ha ha.

A coule things that have been stuffed in roasted kabocha boat lately are roasted plantains

and a chopped up White Chocolate Raspberry Quest Bar.

I just made my normal roasted kabocha boat and then added the Quest Bar and baked it for an additional 5 minutes at 350 convection.

Mmmmm hmm……

I don’t have Quest Bars all the time, but when I do I make sure to do them right. Ha ha.

Yesterday I stopped at GNC (yep, all sweaty and gross) and stocked up on a few. They’re buy 3 get one free right now.

They don’t have the new flavor yet though.

I’ve professed my love for Halo Headbands (and their other products) many times.

Well, I found this video by Nick (the man behind that fabulous Halo) that shoes the technology and how it keeps sweat from getting in your eyes.

And cute reader Randi just recently got one and sent me a picture.

We both had to laugh and said once you go Halo, you never go back to other headbands.

Just got the email today about the Pro Compression new arm sleeves and the Sock of the Month.

Check them out here.

Both the new arm sleeves and the awesome new grey Socks of the Month are on sale.

40% off and FREE shipping with coupon code OCT.

In other running news Runner’s World just announced the inaugural Heartbreak Hill Half Marathon and Festival.

How awesome is that?

I’m assuming it’s going to be a lot like the Runner’s World Half and Festival which is right around the corner with Mizuno Marathon Mezamashii Week. Adding it to my bucket list!

We made some new cookies last night with PB2. They actually turned out really great.

So I’ll make sure to share the recipe, but I have to get a move on for now.

We’re out of egg white jugs, laundry detergent and Silk almond milk.

Oh look,

I let the boys pick out their outfits today for school.

They’ve got style, no?

Ha ha.

Have a good day!

Lol, waking up in a state of pure confusion is the worst. I hate when it’s a weekend and I get up early, drink coffee so that I’m awake, then realize it’s Sunday and I could be sleeping in a bit….oops. 🙂
Those cookies look so good….you make the best cookies!!! I love your NuttZo cookies….maybe you can make some and stash them in your bag for Runner’s world weekend to share with me….or maybe I should just stop being lazy and make some myself. Hah.

I had a tough week too Kristin – cardio was not the best although weights were OK! 😉 Mentally tough though. I think some of it is my hormones & other parts life.. I guess we just have to be thankful for the little things! 🙂
