Oh my word.
Has it really been three weeks since I wrote my initial post about making “One Small Change”?
Well, we’re half way there so it’s time for a little check in.
I’m going to be honest, things have been a bit crazy here with training and travel and such, so my little change has kind of been put on the back burner. But, that’s the thing about lifestyle changes. They usually take time and adjustments and aren’t easy to just change quickly. You need to check in, reevaluate and see how you can improve, right?
My change was to get at least 7 hours of sleep and take 15 minutes to myself every morning for a little quiet time to get a handle on the day and get in the right mindset. Stress less, live in the moment more.
While I’ve been home I’ve been doing pretty good at the 7 hours of sleep thing. Oh man does it make a difference. I mean really, it just helps when you’re well rested. However, with race nerves and traveling across the country over the past weekend and everything, I did NOT get 7 hours of sleep for a few nights. I’m actually still trying to recover a bit from that. I have a couple more days before I make the trek again. Eeekkkk….
I don’t know how some of you travel all the time. It’s tough, right?
As far as taking 15 minutes in the morning for myself, well, not sure that exactly has been happening every single morning either. In fact, just this morning when my alarm went off and since both boys were in bed with me (don’t ask), Judah had to tell me to turn off the alarm and that it was time to get up. Oopsies.
But, I HAVE been making the effort to just take one thing at a time. I have so many things to catch up on after being gone and quite a few GIVEAWAY posts to get up before I leave town again in a couple days, but I’m trying to just take it one thing at a time.
To be totally honest, after being gone over the weekend, I just can’t justify spending time on the computer when I’ve got piles of laundry and the boys right by me needing some Mama love and attention.
These guys are number one!
I’m refocusing. I’m going to get through these next few days and after the marathon this Sunday, I REALLY get to focus on rest. On starting my morning off right.
As for the rest of the family……..
STUFT Daddy committed to taking his vitamins every day. I better check in with him to see how that’s going. I have a feeling he may need to do a little re-evaluation too.
The boys are supposed to be brushing their teeth twice a day and having at least one fruit and vegetable at every meal.
Whelp, I need to step it up a bit on that too. I haven’t been cooking as much the past week or so, so I better get on that as well. Oh man.
Sure, we have the printable charts for brushing their teeth, but filling them out each day is another story. (By the way, does it get any easier to get out the door on time? I swear it’s a struggle every morning and usually the thing we skip out on is brushing teeth.)
Want to know something else? I still haven’t filled out this Fall Bucket List. Oopsies yet again.
Looks like we’ve got a little project for the evening. Ha ha. We still have time, yes? Good thing it’s never too late to make a change.
So, we have some more work to do over here. Baby steps. Second chances. You name it. We need it and we’re on it.
As part of this campaign we also got a really nice package of some great Puritan’s Pride products.
They have all sorts of vitamins and supplements. (Hey look, we even got some Men’s vitamins for STUFT Daddy. He he.)
We also got some snacks, an electric home diffuser, tea and coffee. Score.
I had no idea they had such a big selection of different products on their website.
And they had no idea what my small change was going to be, but they still sent this relaxing meditation candle and lavender oil. It must be a sign.
Okay, well, I’m off. Did anyone pledge to make “One Small Change” too?
If so, how are you doing? (I’m guess a little better than we are.)
Since we’re refocusing over here, maybe you want to join us just for fun for a 30 day challenge.
One small change can make a big difference.
Have a good one!
Stay tuned for some awesome GIVEAWAYS in the works.
(I’m not letting myself post them though until our Fall Bucket List is filled out. Ha ha.)
