Life Lately- A Few Days at Home

Why hello. I’m sure you have much better thing to do with your day than be here with me, but when I go too long without telling you about our STUFT happenings, flying my freak flag, you know, all the regular fun stuff, I just feel like something is missing.

Don’t worry, I am well aware of the fact that the feeling is not mutual, but that’s not going to stop me.

I’m high in the sky, paid my $12 for WiFi and am going to use is darn it.

Before I forget, the Love Gown Foods giveaway winner is

Congrats Allyssa. I sent you an email.

So let’s see, I’m just going to pretend you’re on the plan next to me. I have an empty seat actually so that’s a good thing since my carry on “purse” barely fits under the seat in front of me. Goodness knows what’s in there besides some baked purple sweet potatoes and a ginormous no grain plantain cupcake loaf. I’m totally not kidding. We’ll see how they look after the flight. Fingers crossed they survive. LOL.

I didn’t take a chance with the kabocha though. Made sure to scarf that down on the ride to the airport and post it on instagram. It helped me fight off the tears a bit.

Dang it’s hard to leave home. Maybe that’s why I leave things until the last minute. Then I’m too rushed to think about it. Hmmm….

Workouts this past week:

Monday was tough after all the races last weekend. I taught a few classes, but didn’t run. My darn quads were hurting big time.

Tuesday I ran 3 slow miles on the treadmill at the gym and then taught a BOSU class.

Oh, favorite thing as of late to do on the BOSU by the way is jumping lunges.

Alternate touching your back knee to the BOSU ball every time. They’re a killer (in a good way).

Not the best idea to try to take pictures while doing them though. Ha.

Wednesday taught spin and ran 7 slow miles on the treadmill while watching The View. My legs were finally feeling a bit better.

Thursday ran 4.8 easy miles outside then taught a few classes.

Nothing today.

Nada. Just sitting on my bootie flying high in the sky.

Tomorrow we just have a little shake out run in the morning with the Runner’s WOrld Challenge and Bart Yasso. I’m tempted to bring my Flat Bart, but we’ll see. Um, heck yes he’s in my bag.

It was kind of survival week at home. Got a few loads of laundry done. Did NOT clean the kitchen floor.

I did appreciate a new unsweetened mocha every single day though. I fell a little more in love with my stovetop espresso maker and Starbucks espresso.

Some other eats that went down besides the usual roasted kabocha boat nonsense:

A sausage, broccoli and cauliflower STUFT egg-rito complete with a fresh jalapeño with some roasted delicata squash.

A chicken, cauliflower and kale egg white scramble in coconut oil.

A ginormous no grain plantain cupcake with coconut butter and peanut free NuttZo and cinnamon roasted sweet dumpling squash.

And you already saw what went down at Souplantation the other night and last night. That was darn fabulous.

I ate a lot more this week, but didn’t take pictures. You’re welcome.

I did make sure to spend some quality time with my men. Dang it I miss them already.

2013-10-22 13.57.26

We went on not just one walk, but about three.

2013-10-22 14.32.37

We read this book at least 4 times.

2013-10-22 20.24.16

We decided to start a new trend and put our pants on backwards.

Goes well with the tail, doesn’t it?

We had quality family time riding bikes and racing with STUFT Daddy.

2013-10-23 18.13.562013-10-23 18.15.10

Yep, best husband and Dad ever right there. I’m so stinking lucky.

And, whelp, my laptop battery is about to die. I guess I’m done now. I’ll see you in DC.

Just two more pictures because they’re my favorite.

And, ones like this usually don’t make the blog, but oh well, I’m in a sharing mood.

Have a great trip! When I’m back after a trip I love to sit on my couch and pet my two kitties and stare out the patio door to the Eucalyptus trees in the backyard. Some of my favorite homey things. :) I also, love, love, love my bed & pillow so I’m always SO glad to be back home in my own bed.

My favorite race is the Joplin Memorial Half marathon. Even though it’s usually too hot and humid and hilly to PR, it is in remembrance of the 161 people that died during an F5 tornado that ripped through my town 2.5 yrs ago.

I have a few goals- get my half PR done to 1:50 and then oncemy youngest is in kindergarten really commit to training for a full.

I never go anywhere, so I never get to “come home” lol!
We have the book Edward the Emu, I also recommend Edwina the Emu, it’s the sequel, a real page turner! (Aussie inlaws, I think we have every children’s book by Aussie authors)
BTW I really need some new (full) bosu workouts, lately my kids have been using it as a trampoline! :)

I LOVE immediately unpacking, putting on my PJ’s and crashing on the couch and catching up on all the horrible TV I DVR’ed. LOL! :) I always like cooking a home cooked meal too.
