A Couple Fast Fixes and Disney Wine and Dine Meet Up Recap

A Couple Fast Fixes and Disney Wine and Dine Meet Up Recap

Good morning!

Whelp, I’m slowly being convinced that sleep pretty much cures all. Ha ha.

Instead of pulling the normal write a post after everyone is sleeping thing last night I got in bed at 8:30pm. Glorious I tell ya.

However my plan of getting up while everyone was still sleeping failed, at least I can thank a warm version of STUFT tots chocolate milk and the show Clifford for 30 minutes to get a few things done.

And after two full nights of sleep in a row I’m feeling pretty darn good this morning.

Need a fast fix? Sleep. He he.

I hadn’t run since the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Saturday night so figured I should loosen up my legs a bit yesterday. I didn’t get a chance to run earlier in the day and was not really looking forward to going for a run at dusk.

My fast fix for a little motivation- new shoes.

It works every time. I had a new pair of Mizuno Wave Sayonara shoes that I was saving for that special time and last night was it. And it was 11-12-13. I mean, something fun and new has to happen on that day, right?

The new shoes got me out the door and once I was out there it felt great. Not to mention I saw the most beautiful sunset.

So sometimes you just have to tell yourself to “just do it” and once you’re out there, all is good. That’s not always the case, but more often than not it happens.

Okay, so I never really did a good recap of the Disney Wine and Dine Meet Up event from last weekend. I mentioned it here, but with all the excitement I didn’t do a good recap.

Here it is.

The event was held at Epcot.

Thank goodness Heather and Jen met us at the front to show us where to go. Kelly and I were a little lost. Ha ha.

2013-11-07 20.35.14

We made our way to the other side of the park and met up with everyone.

We had the best view of the most fabulous firework show I’ve ever seen, Illuminations.

Afterwards we got to hang out a bit.

Jeff Galloway was there as he coaches a few of the Run Disney training plans for the events.

After we all got to try some fabulous vegan wine (in teeny tiny cups)

and some delicious food, we listened to a few presentations.

We heard from the chefs about all the fabulous food at the Food and Wine festival (28 kiosks total for the event), then we learned a little about the new New Balance shoe that was specifically designed for Run Disney events since they are the official sponsor.

And, Jenny Simpson talked a little bit about running. She has the record for the fastest mile at 4:19. Um…. how crazy is that?

We finished the night off with a little run around the part.

Led my Bob Hitchcock and Jeff Galloway (he took the run/walk group).

I had to make a quick stop to take a picture with some friends.

We finished how every late night run should.

With a champagne toast of course.

It was a blast.

I’m telling you, these Disney folks know how to throw a party and run some amazing events. I’m so honored to be able to experience it first hand.

Darrell is the man. He he.

Okay, I’m off. My 30 glorious minutes are over.

Have a glorious day! Cheers!

It looks like they gave you shot glasses of wine! I’m trying to convince my husband to head to Disney for a racecation but so far he isn’t biting.

I picked up the Mizuno Wave Sayonara’s last weekend and I am in love with them! I have a really wide forefoot and the wider toebox made a huge difference. I had been running in the Wave Enigma 2 and wanted to grab another pair or two before they were completely out of stock but they were gone. 🙁

I totally agree that sleep is the best. Having a almost 3 yo that doesn’t’ sleep through the night I cherish every minute that I can get.

Love this! I can’t wait to do a Disney race one day – I really want to do the Disney marathon one of these days. Who knows if it will happen but a girl can dream right!? 🙂

If/when I get better I think a Disney race should be the one I try first!! How fun!!

One of these days, I’ll do a Disney race. Even if it costs a lot of monies, it sure looks like the whole experience is magical and awesome! 🙂
