The Weekly Mail and Some Jerky For You

And it’s Saturday. Fantabulous.

I’m not sure how exciting your Friday night was, but this lady was CRAZY and was in bed at 8:30 pm. Watch out. Ha. I have been sleeping like a boss lately and loving it.

Oh and random, but the good thing about starting to watch a fun romantic comedy movie on the treadmill at home is that it makes you get back on that darn treadmill early in the morning to finish the movie.

I was up at 5:30 am today was kind of excited to finish my movie from Thursday. Five easy treadmill miles.

Then taught a little boot camp at the park.

Lots you can do with a tired looking instructor,

2013-11-23 09.03.01

just a few tools

2013-11-23 09.03.54

and this STUFT 10 to 1 Jacking Burpee Challenge.

(Old video, but if you haven’t tried it yet you really should. He he.)

He he.

So, we’ve been traveling so much lately, it’s really nice to be home for a change on a weekend. We have no plans and hope to keep it that way. Oh wait, except for church and making a trip to Bath and Body Works (their hand soaps are on sale for $2.50 each from 12-4 today and wallflowers are only $3). Time to stock up.

In addition to piles of laundry stacking up from all our travels, so did some pretty great mail deliveries.

Mail is always fun, isn’t it?

Thought I’d show you a few highlights we’ve gotten recently.

I got some new Victoria’s Secret undies from Smack Media.

Might be the most expensive pair I now own. I’m usually a Target kind of gal.

My favorite Action Wipes.

I like the single packets for traveling, but also like this big package for home use. I pretty much use these daily in between classes and such.

I also got these cool HumanX Women’s X3 Competition Gloves from Harbinger.

I’m really excited to give these beauties a try for boot camp. You can buy them from Amazon here.

And, you know, can never have enough Handful bras (or bra pads). I like the standard white for being comfy around the house.

And, Halo has some fun new products, designs and colors coming out (some are already out).

The pullover headband now comes in a slim 1” width (they also have a super wide version, but the standard version is wide enough for me).

And they have some new girlie purples and pinks in the Halo hairbands.

In the food department we got a new NuttZo shipment

and our quarterly Love Grown Foods Love Drop

complete with Hot Oats and the new Super Oats.

Oh and speaking of granola, this did not come in the mail, but was delivered to me in person by my fabulous Grammy herself at one of my classes at the YMCA- Grammy’s Granola.

Pretty much some amazing local homemade granola. Not to mention Grammy (Janet) is the nicest person you will ever meet in your life.

Oh and the boys were overjoyed with this as always. Their beloved Chobani Champions Tubes.

Let’s hope those last awhile. He he.

Oh and my fabulous friend Jess sent me what is the equivalent to gold.

2013-11-22 07.36.48

Yep, Starbucks espresso is where it’s at. They have a special one out for Christmas I want to get my hands on too. Not sure if I can really tell the difference, but tis the season.

Enough of my darn mail pictures.

I kind of feel bad for photo dumping all that on you.

Let me show you my favorite lunch as of late.

Chicken and guacamole lettuce tacos with carrots or cassava “fries” and extra guacamole and salsa of course.

I will also show you the boys school pictures because I have some family members who only read the blog to see pictures of them.

And now I want to give you some Stehly Buffalo Jerky.

I’ll pick two random winners from the comments below and send you a little sample package of our jerky (2 1 oz. and 2 2 oz.). It’s good stuff friends.

*Giveaway will be open until Monday night, 10 PM PST. Winners will be announced Tuesday.

What are you up to this weekend?

I love mail packages!! I’ve only gotten a few packages of Xmas presents I’ve been ordering online. I can’t believe Xmas is almost here, I’m so behind!!

I ran a small (like maybe 50 people total) local turkey trot 10k this morning. So small there was no fee (just donate a few cans of food for a food bank), no shirts, no medals, but they had a big clock at the end and some refreshments. I came in first overall female!! Haha, first time I’ve ever placed even in top 5 for anything. But like I said, it was hecka small. I did shave 1.5 minutes off my previous PR though!

Cleaned the basement, chopped some wood and now getting ready to head out to my husband’s Sports Car Club of America banquet. He won his division this year in his RX-7 through the Kryder Series!. Then tomorrow – Sunday – I have some writing to do (I a a freelance writer who writes about sports and… antiques – I know; weird) and swim practices(I am also a competitive swim coach to 220 fabulous YMCA swimmers) to put together for next week. Recently got a Kashi brownie sample in the mail and noshed on it as I drove to coach at the Y. It was delish.

Oh it looks like you got lot’s of fun mail! I haven’t been able to justify a Nuttzo purchase as I can get soo much nut butter at Costco for $10, I did however put it on my Christmas list! My mom laughed when I asked for a jar of this specific nut butter for Christmas. I have tried buffalo jerky from TJ’s and really liked it. This weekend I’m working on a grad school paper and taking breaks to catch up on my favorite blogs.

No major plans this weekend…except for the farmer’s market to hoard the last of the kabocha! Sundays are my only full free day so I purposely make no plans and schedule nothing though I always end up getting lots done but just randomly.

Ugh…I never get mail not even bills these days since most is online or paid through my rent already. Only good part of no mail, I suppose.

Well…cheers to a chilled out (freezing here in DC!!!!) weekend to you!

As for weekend plans, my running partner and I have a had a “girls day” planned for today for a few weeks now. We went to Atlanta and visited a few running stores, ate a fabulous cantina (where I enjoyed a gluten-free skillet with rice, black beans, peppers, onions, jalopenos, feta cheese, and grilled tilapia. mmmm!), and then, last but not least, stopped by Trader Joe’s. My first Trader Joe’s experience. Yes! Needlesstoday, I was a bit overwhelmed and ended up not leaving with much because I couldn’t make up my mind! Will definitely be going back. I actually almost bought some bison jerky but changed my mind, so I was super happy to see this give away!

As for mail this week, I received my big order from Vitacost containing coconut oil, coconut flour, gluten-free oats, pumpkin seeds, quinoa, and some nuttzo! Yes, I had to try that stuff! Amazing! I also got two wedding save-the-dates! Exciting things coming!

Wow it was like Christmas came early to your house! How fun. My weekend has been spent taking care of all my kids (somehow I turned around and now I have 4 of them!:)), working on homework for grad school, a little house work, a nice solo run (amazing because solo runs never happen anymore) and getting ready for Thanksgiving. That buffalo jerky sounds amazing. My husband is a big time hunter and we always have deer and elk jerky around but I don’t think I have ever had buffalo.
