When I was at the Runner’s World Half Marathon and Festival weekend we got a chance to do a little workout with the Xfinity Fitness Band.

Well, I was lucky enough to take my little band home and I’ve been using it a lot lately. I’ve taken it on all my recent travels and love doing a quick little resistance workout at home with it. A lot of the workouts I do and the classes I teach use a band for resistance training, so obviously I fell in love with this new variation of one.

Yesterday the boys and I decided to make a little video for you since it’s been so long. We also wanted to make sure you got to see this band in action because it’s awesome and you may want to put it on your holiday wish list and/or buy it for someone else.

It’s a perfect stretching tool for runners which is what we used it for in our workout in Bethlehem. I really need to start doing more of these.

Yes, I got a little help with the video. That’s what’s great though about home workouts. You can fit them in anywhere whenever you get the chance.

This one in particular was at Grandma and Papap’s house when we decided to surprise Grandma and be there for her when she got home from work. Aren’t we nice? Ha ha.

 

I didn’t have a timer with me, so I just show you a few of my favorite moves. Usually if I don’t have a timer to do a minute on each move I go with 30 of each thing. It seems like a good number for me. Feel free to make it fit your needs.

STUFT Xfinity Band Workout

Here’s the video we made for you with the moves. As always there’s some STUFT boy entertainment. Judah was really wanting to be “the conductor” so he gives quite a bit of instruction. Joaquin had a bit of a close call with the iPhone, but we seemed to make it through without knocking it over for once.

    I could REALLY use this! I commute 4 hours a day for work so it’s pitch black when I leave and pitch black when I get home from work. This would be really great to have at work so I can still be active during the week (can’t be right now). I know my calves would LOVE that calf stretch!!

    My boys love to try and exercise with me at home but weights can get dangerous, so a resistance band is always a safer choice. But they do know how to foam roll like a champ :)

    I’m someone who has a TON of knee problems due to past injuries, so the band exercises are/would be a great way to keep building and rehabilitating my knees and legs! I also LOVE that it can be used for stretching, resistance, and mainly, for the ENTIRE body! A college gal, like myself, would LOVE to have one of these for every day use! :D

    Anything to improve upper body/core form & strength for running, so maybe one of the shoulder or back exercises. Saw this used in boat pose elsewhere, that would work too. Could use it instead of my rope for stretching sometimes!

    My favorite band exercise is weaving the band underneath an aerobics step and placing your fleet inside each handle. Lay down on the step and bring your legs straight up into the air and take your legs wide then bring them back together. This exercise works wonders on the inner thighs!!!

    Hmmm, happy Wednesday! My favorite at-home exercises are simply core work before I go out for my runs. In regards to resistance training, I have always stuck to curls, triceps, etc. I’ve never thought of using a resistance band for things like push-ups to make them harder…very cool! And only because I know you are doing the runner’s world running streak, I have to say that today was an “off-day,” so I literally went and ran my 1 mile…might have been the strangest feeling ever! haha

    I love the hamstring stretch ! As a cross country runner i also find myself faulty in not stretching enough and i have gotten so many shin splints and other issues with not doing that .     My favorite band stretch is the shoulder stretch because I didn’t even know I could do all the others! Can’t wait to try the quad and runner’s stretch though!
