First Run, The Cutest Snowman, Breaking and Entering and the 12 Days Are Coming

Workout today started with another early morning treadmill run. My training right now is kind of taking on a two back to back long runs so today was my first one. It happened in two parts though.

It started on the treadmill. It says I ran 10 miles, it was probably more like 9.5. I stepped off a lot having to deal with my early morning buddy who found our Harvey.

I’m not sure he clearly understands the message that Harvey is watching and reporting to Santa about his behavior because he was slightly difficult this morning.

I got the boys ready for school and scarfed down this broccoli slaw stuft egg-rito gem and a cup of coffee.

Dropped the boys off wearing my finest attire.

Not pictured, but I was wearing a SPANX tank top under a running shirt. I heard SPANX is on sale today on Zulily just in case you’re a fan too.

Then I got to take my new Mizuno Wave Inspire 10s out for spin.

It was darn cold here in Southern CA, so I had to do the glove thing.

The only thing that made me a little hesitant was the fact that they shoes are white and I didn’t want to get them dirty. I’m always like that with mew shoes for awhile.

But our first run together was a success. I let them take on one of my favorite hills.

Hopefully just the start of many more to come.

Yesterday I got to use my first holiday mug, today I got all crazy and had my roasted kabocha boat and purple sweet potato on a cool snowman plate.

Check it out.

Hmm…. so maybe you can’t totally tell that’s a snowman under there, but it is.

And yeah, my new thing is roasting a purple sweet potato, scooping out the inside and mashing it with coconut butter and cinnamon and putting that with NuttZo on the kabocha

and then filling the leftover skin with STUFT chia pod gel.

Good stuff.

Something really great that I HAVE to share.

My local radio friend Little Tommy of KYXY 96.5 (we first met here) does this AMAZING thing called Breaking and Entering Christmas every year.

He takes a family that really needs a little help and gets a team of wonderful people together to go in and leave presents and gifts without the family knowing. I look forward to listening to it every year.

Here is the link to see pictures and/or listen to the recording of it. It happened yesterday morning. Make sure you have your tissues handy.

Have a wonderful rest of your day!

I’m hoping to convince the family to take a trip to Costco with me. I wonder what the chances of that actually happening are. Ha.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who hasn’t started shopping or ordered Christmas cards yet. Oops.

Jealous of those awesome kicks! On black Friday I purchased my first pair of Mizuno’s, the Inspire 9′s, and I LOVE them. Guess I’ll need to get the 10′s too ;) *Christmas list*

Sweet potato with chia pod!? How do you think of these things off the top of your head? Makes me ready for some dinner!

I stopped sending out Christmas cards 2 years ago…so this will be the 3rd year of no cards. I don’t miss it but, hubby says we receive less now b/c we don’t send any out. I feel Facebook has wrecked the fun of Christmas Cards. We are updated on what every one is doing all year now. We see pictures and changes constantly. Why send a card when we can also post a Merry Christmas to all our friends right on Fb and save the money on cards, stamps, and time.

Hubby says its the Grinch in me……I say its the common sense thriftiness in me….who is right? I don’t know.

No Christmas shopping or decorating yet! We’re about to hear on a new house so I’m waiting to decorate cuz we might be moving! I like to either shop for gifts leisurely or slam it all out at the last minute. Looks like this year will be the latter ;-) For some reason lately your potatoey, squashy, egg-white and chia concoctions have been triggering a memory of a line from a kids’ movie. Probably because they are polar opposites but equally unappealing to me. It’s from Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs… “A pizza stuffed inside a turkey…the whole thing deep-fried and dipped in chocolate!” I seriously don’t know how you can eat all that all the time!

Love the giving!!! We need to do it year round with so many in need!

You are fun – that is all… :)
