Another day flew by, Christmas cards still sit. Shocker.
We did venture to Costco today. Lunch of samples? Okay.
We also finally hung a few ornaments on our tree (instead of just socks) and I forgot to show you our fabulous gingerbread house we made over the weekend.
We’re pretty proud.
I got up for an early morning 10 mile treadmill run this morning.
Yep, slept in my Handful and socks yet again to be ready to go.
A little bright today.
Breakfast was fun afterwards.
I’ve been out of purple sweet potatoes, so resorted to a couple Japanese sweet potatoes I’ve had on hand for awhile. They’re good, but not as good as the purple ones. My egg scramble was with chicken apple sausage, spinach and kale.
Random, but I asked Joaquin if he wanted eggs and bacon for his breakfast like yesterday. He said, “no, only when I’m wearing my bacon and eggs shirt”. Funny guy.
Taught a short BOSU class a little later on at the gym.
Last week, I attempted to make a video for you of my favorite move from class, but it didn’t turn out too well. I’m going to share it anyway.
Shoulder push-ups. They are fabulous with or without a BOSU.
Basically you’re in an upside down V position with your tush in the air and your head tucked under and lower your head to have the top of it touch the floor. Definitely harder than it looks. A little move I learned from my man Bob Harper here.
I got a fabulous package from Frieda’s this afternoon that included jicama, blood oranges, Meyer lemons, polenta, fresh ginger and purple sweet potatoes.
Obviously I was most excited about these beauties.
Interesting that the label says to bake them for 1.5- 2 hours. I don’t do it that long at all, but my perfect baked purple sweet potato seems to work well.
I might need some ideas with what to do with this fresh ginger. Is there a secret to grating it?
And, not from Frieda’s, but from the hubs, check these out.
I have no idea what kind of squash this is.
And this huge butternut squash should last awhile.
Now that’s pretty darn big.
You know what else the hubs brought home?
Funny. I’ve had caramel apples on the brain since the this race.
The boys and I shared that bad boy after dinner.
And whelp, since this post has a ton food pictures already, I may as well give something delicious away, right?
I have one more batch of cookies to bake tomorrow. I’m making NuttZo Doughtzel Balls.
They have a new creamy version of chocolate NuttZo out.
We use it in our STUFT NuttZo Monkey Balls.
Yep, chocolate, creamy goodness.
For you of course.
One winner will win a jar of creamy chocolate NuttZo.
Just leave me a comment here. Tell me anything you want, or if you know what the heck kind of squash that might be.
Feel free to tweet for an additional entry mentioning @stuftmama and @eatnuttzo and leave a comment here letting me know.
*Giveaway open to US Residents only and will run until Friday, December 20th, 8:00 pm PST.
