Christmas Snapshots, Giveaway Winners and How to Plan a Party 72 Hours

I hope you had the most magnificent holiday.

It came and went, didn’t it?

It’s always a little bittersweet.

We had an amazing time with our wonderful family, talked about how lucky we are, celebrated Jesus’s birthday and then, well, now I get a little sad that it’s over. I wish that everything leading up to it wasn’t as rushed and hectic as it was. You know?

We had some precious moments.

We made sure to peel some carrots for the Rudolph and bake yet another batch of peanut butter doughtzel balls on Christmas Eve.

My favorite moment every year is singing Silent Night by candlelight at church on Christmas Eve.

I have yet to make it through the song with dry eyes.

Family fun on Christmas Eve.

What do you know, Santa pulled through with some learning laptops. Lucky kids.

There has been a lot of eating the past two days. I mean A LOT. I’ve eaten so many different things, but only managed to take a picture of this coffee cake that we have every Christmas morning. And no, this was not my only piece.

Gift highlights:

The boys got bikes. (Yes, Joaquin picked out his Christmas morning outfit.)

They also got this. Dang I forget the name of it at the moment, but I love it.

I got new slippers, a sock monkey calendar and squash socks.

I also got a new vacuum.

My bro did not get this today, but how awesome is his shirt?

Christmas night was with Andrew’s family at Tutu’s house. It was so much fun. Seriously, I’m beyond blessed to be a part of his huge family. Our Christmas night included friends and family, delicious burritos, Christmas carols, wine, laughs, all kinds of desserts…….

such good times.

Running, training chat and some healthy recipes are on the way. I’ll try to not post so much daily happenings and family stuff, but that’s just what’s been going on over here lately and well, I’m just trying to catch my breath at the moment. It might not happen though for a few more days as the boys are turning 4 Saturday and they want a pirate party.

Um, yeah.

Is it possible to plan a party in 72 hours?

We shall see………

This Runner’s World quote seems quite appropriate.

It’s appropriate for quite a few things I’ve got going on actually.

Anyone else?

Hope you’re holiday was blessed with laughter and love and that you got to celebrate the true reason for the season. HIM.

Hugs from ALL of us to YOU!

What was your Christmas highlight?

Have any pirate party planning tips? I’ll take them.

Easiest pirate party game….the Treasure hunt (and going from island to tree to chicken coop (ha!) and finally the treasure chest full of gold…or gold fish? ha!) You can get out a 2×4 and have them do an obstacle course too…they would “walk the plank” on the board….go down mountain slides or the playset slide??

ROCK’em SOCK’em ROBOTS!!….My son Owen got those a few years ago b/c his dad had them when he was little ….hilarious. Your Gpa in shorts and his Hawaiian shirt just makes me a little jealous. ;-)

Glad you had a great day with the family.

I love seeing everyone’s Christmas fun! The boys look like they had a great time and I just love your socks lol…As for their party, I would advice checking Pinterest for the ideas. Just using the keyword “pirate party” will pull up a ton of ideas. Party City has all the Pirate themed party stuff too, just buy it all and then return what you don’t use lol.

I am so glad you had such a wonderful Christmas with family!!! :) One of the traditions in our home on Christmas Eve is that my sister and I will put on festive Christmas jammies (even though we are both in college now-it’s still so fun) and take pictures around the Christmas tree. Then my whole family gets to open one present before bed! Mom and dad will turn on a Christmas movie for us to watch as we all sit around at night before we go to bed! It doesn’t sound like much but it’s something I look forward to each year- just getting to spend time with family and see their faces light up as we open presents and talk about the true meaning of Christmas–Jesus’ Birthday!!!

If anyone can pull off a pirate party on short notice, I’m sure it’s you! Glad you enjoyed your Christmas so much!!
