Oh The Places You Can Go- Put a Ring on It and an iFit Band

Good morning.

2014-01-06 11.30.28

I’m grateful for this new unsweetened mocha right this very minute.

Smile

Not only is today off to a fabulous start, but I’ve just decided this year I’m going to travel the world.

yep, that’s right. I just went for a little run around Italy this morning in fact. He he.

Oh, before I tell you about it though, I was featured in a Babble article the other day.

10 Realistic Workout Tips For Moms, From Moms

image

Kind of fun, although they definitely could have gone with a better picture. Ha ha.

So, this actually won’t be all about my run, but more about all the cool features and technology iFit has going on right now. I can’t believe all the amazing things you can do.

I had big plans this morning to get on my Official Boston Marathon Treadmill (still unnamed by the way) for a workout I got from a training plan for the LA Marathon I’ll be running in March.

I even wrote my workout down last night before I went to bed. It’s always keeps me a little more accountable if I see it writing. Anyone else?

So, this morning I woke up and had a little sweat session with my best friend.

IMG_1849

I even decided to go all out and try out the heart rate monitor and the speed ring that came with it.

IMG_2177IMG_2178IMG_2182

Yes, that’s right, you can control the speed with a ring. Just one of the many amazing things about the coolest treadmill I’ve ever set foot on. I know I already told you all about the cool features here when I really started dreaming about having one of these, but I just keep finding out more amazing things every day.

I had some AT intervals on the agenda today. I got through 4 of them for 7 minutes each at AT pace with 3 minutes of rest in between. Um, yeah, haven’t done long intervals like that for about a year so it was a bit of a shock.

2014-01-07 07.34.57

After those I decided to check out the maps I have saved on my iFit account.

Today I went with running the streets of Italy.

2014-01-07 07.38.14

This is probably the closest I’ll ever get to actually getting there. Ha.

Check it out.

Pretty nice running tour, huh?

I love how the treadmill adjusts the elevation and everything on it’s own.

2014-01-07 08.00.14

My little 3.84 mile Italy tour was over pretty quickly thank goodness because I was still recovering a bit from those repeats. Those are no joke.

2014-01-07 08.09.31

I wanted to get 10 miles in for the day and this was one heck of a fabulous way to do it.

You know, just touring Italy in my finest attire.

2014-01-07 08.09.52

Ha ha.

Okay, so here’s some information I have to pass along because I really want you to be the first to know about all this amazingness that’s coming with iFit.

- iFit® is the first ever technology to unify your fitness activities at home, in the club, and outside, all with a single login.

- iFit® mega-trends the Consumer Electronic Association forecasts for 2014: Wearable health and fitness and the Internet of Things. The CEA predicts the market for personal health and wellness products to grow 142% by 2018 to $8 billion.  Running, walking and treadmill activity are the top three participation activities in the 2013 Tracking the Fitness Movement, published by the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA).

iFit’s complete approach to fitness has expanded to an entirely new way to work out: with Internet-connected fitness equipment, mobile apps, and now even wearable devices.

iFit® is the first ever technology to unify your fitness activities at home, in the club, and outside, all with a single login. With over 15 million miles logged on fitness equipment in 2013, iFit is continually growing to create the most interactive workout experience possible.

This new wearable band that iFit has come out with enhances and expands the whole iFit experience.

I already knew that it you have the iFit running app that you can take any route you run or walk outside and do the same route on any iFit ready equipment inside.

But now, it’s even easier and more awesome.

Everywhere You Go (#iFitEverywhere @iFit): The new iFit® Active wearable band is the enhanced experience of iFit®, as it goes everywhere with you. The iFit® Active band is the only one to automatically switch settings from awake to asleep, based on customized settings in the iFit® Active app. By personalizing sleep, workout and wake up schedules, the iFit® Active wearable will automatically log all activity and sleep, without manually switching modes.

All your activity, distance, steps, calories burned, and sleep patterns are automatically recorded on your iFit® Active device and synced to the iFit® Active app via Bluetooth® 4.0. Input your caloric intake with the touch of a button or log daily nutrition details through the smartphone app. The iFit® Active app automatically updates to a single user login at iFit.com.

Wear the iFit® Active band as a watch, clip or pod for your pocket. Sizing is as easy to adjust as a watch strap and can be customized with a variety of colors. The default display for the iFit® Active band includes two metrics: time of day and user’s choice of distance, calories and steps.

Ahhhh…….

Doesn’t this sound so cool? Everything is tracked, recorded and synced to your account.

I can’t wait to try it out and man, I really can’t believe what amazing fitness technology is coming out.

Okay, I’m done babbly about this. It’s just so darn awesome I had to share.

We all need to get our hands on these bands, right?

He he.

Have a wonderful day!

Hope you’re having a better hair day than we are over here.

Right now I am really liking my Fitbit Force…..I know some don’t like it as much b/c it doesn’t work when on a treadmill but I like the simply accountability in steps and accuracy to keep me moving a bit more throughout the day.

I really, really, really want one of those treadmills…..but, I don’t think hubby and I would know how to put it together….too bad they can’t deliver it and set it up for me too? THen, I just may make the splurge!

I like your featured pic. That’s somewhat how I look when I really have to go, lol. Many were not flattering, as they often are not when you’re working hard. At least you were covered up–just not a fan of the bikini shots. Anywho, love the gadget talk, just amazing what they come out with now. I use the treadmills at the gym and my apt gym, so need need/room for one at home.

I recently got the Proform 1450 that has iFit enabled. I think I did that Italy route! I haven’t done a route in a few weeks though after I chose a few that sent the incline so high and I was a little traumatized. But I need to try it out again. I’ve had some trouble saving routes on my computer and then finding them on my treadmill.

I use the treadmill more than any other machine at the gym…

OMG, the face & the bed head although that hair looks good compared to mine! ;)
