Top Thursday Things and STUFT 60 Challenge Updates


Last night I read this in my Jesus Calling book.

Honestly, it could not have been more fitting. I’ve got a whole slew of challenges staring me in the face and to be quite honest I’m anxious and well, terrified, but I know I need to just trust and embrace them. Yes?

And, while I’m being honest I admittedly spend quite a bit of energy regretting things I didn’t make time to do or choices I’ve made, etc. That’s just silly. What does that do? Nothing. Wastes time.

So, yep, starting now, time to accept and trust and live life to the fullest, no?



Did an easy ten on the treadmill this morning while watching two Parenthood episodes.

It’s hard to get up early and get it done, but oh man that feeling of being done with your run and looking outside to see the sun come up. Well, it’s just glorious.

And then I’m ready to be on with these guys. Not that they’ve been needing some extra attention and talks about appropriate behavior and word choices lately or anything. Ha.

I also forgot to tell you that my friend Dawn wrote a book.


She’s darn amazing and ran 12 marathons in 12 months while being a mama of 5 AND running her own business. I have no words really, just admiration. She is one heck of an inspiration to say the least. The book is available on Amazon for $1.99 here.


And to tell you my other friend EMZ is running a 100 mile race this weekend. Man, I can’t imagine. She’s done a couple 100 mile treadmill runs for charities and is one heck of an amazing runner, friend, mama…. the list goes on and on.


Also thought I’d share that I found this new gem at Trader Joe’s last night. I’m pretty excited about it. Have you see it yet?

A roasted kabocha boat went down again earlier today. It looked a little something like this.



I also stuffed my face with this late lunch. Romaine lettuce stuffed with tuna (with seasoning and hot sauce) and chipotle roasted purple sweet potatoes with Trader Joe’s guacamole.


Yep. This might just be the most perfect combo ever.

Now for a couple STUFT 60 Challenge updates.

Um… yeah, can’t believe it’s just a week away. What???


We have some awesome people who have signed up for their own virtual race as part of the STUFT 60 Challenge team.

Here are a couple if these awesome runners who are doing it all for Sixty Feet on January 31st.

Dulcy is going to run 13 miles. She’s currently training for her first full marathon.


Kim from Day With KT has big plans to tackle 30 (yes, 30) miles and might even go the distance and do the whole 37 with me. She is on fire.


Michelle is doing a whole sprint triathlon on her own (spin class, 30 minute run, and 400 meter swim).

Leah is running 12 miles as she’s training for the Disney Princess Half Marathon.


How awesome are they?


I have some prizes lined up for those of you who donate to the STUFT 60 Challenge, but before I show you those, here are the orphans were running for.

For this little girl.

This little girl that was abandoned. Yes, this is the same girl. She had no one to care for her and she ended up at one of the remand homes (the prison). Sixty Feet was able to care for her medical needs, and provide the love and care that she so desperately needed.

For this boy who is at a remand home.


And for these children who are also at remand homes that Sixty Feet cares for.



We are running for THEM. To make a difference in their lives.

I’m running 37 miles on my birthday to do my part to help meet their needs and provide them with the attention, care and hope they deserve. I wish I could do something bigger, but this is a good start for these children.

You can still register to run a virtual race, but since the run is about a week away, the easiest way to get involved and help is to donate here on my fundraising page.


My goal is to raise $3700 for Sixty Feet.

I have some amazing companies that have given prizes for those of you who donate to the cause.


NuttZo has graciously offered to give the first 50 people who make a minimum donation of $60 a FREE jar of Crunchy 70% Dark Chocolate NuttZo.


The other prizes are:

– 1 winner will get a pair of Mizuno running shoes (winner gets to choose between Wave Inspire 10, Wave Rider 17 or Wave Hitogami)

– 1 winner will get an adjustable Handful bra

– 2 winners will get a pair of Pro Compression marathon socks

– 3 winners will get his or her Halo product of choice

– 3 winners will get a 15 count sample box of Quest Bars 

– 3 winners will get a 30-count pack of Action Wipes 

– 6 winners will get a 35.3 oz. tub of chia seeds from The Chia Company (60 day supply)



The two people who donate the most will get to choose what prize.

All other prizes will be given to random winners that donate $25 or more.

*Donations that qualify for random prize drawing need to be done by 1/31/14 at 12:00 am.


Let’s do this. Not for the prizes and products, but to do our part to help these children.

It doesn’t matter how long it takes us to help, to donate, to get out there and run our virtual race, or how long it takes me to run those 37 miles on a treadmill, what matters is that we do what we can to help these children in need.

    I just spent over an hour (yikes) looking over some of your past posts about sixty feet and also looking at your delicious recipes! I love your blog and how you cover a wide variety of topics, your devotionals, your beautiful boys, and food! I am now hooked on squash because of you. Squash for breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner! I have a broken foot and still can’t run for a few more weeks (Boo!!!!) but I can’t be left out of this. I’m going to join your team and swim 2 miles on January 31st!
