Cutest Valentine Socks Ever, Sunchokes and Detox For February

Totally random, but just stopping by really quick for a few things.

Ran an easy 6 miles on the treadmill early this morning.

I’m into Parenthood lately as my treadmill entertainment.

And decided to go with the whole mellow yellow theme thing since I’m trying to be more mellow this month.

Ha ha. Yes, the Wave Inspire 10s now come in yellow.

So cool, right?

Oh and while I’m here, have you seen the Pro Compression socks of the month for February?

How cute are these heart socks? I really want them. Here’s the info on the promo.

I forgot to show you my helpers from yesterday.

They are getting really good at making and eating Nutty STUFT NuttZo Energy Balls.

Seriously, these take like 5 minutes to make. I’m going to try to make a paleo version though with less sugar next time.

I did a lot of planning yesterday. There really is something about writing things down in planners that just makes me feel good.

Oh and yes, I did some roasted kabocha squash eating too. Ha ha.

Someone mentioned on instagram about Bullet Journal. I guess it’s a way to take notes or something. I Googled it, but didn’t get a chance to read about it or watch the video. Have you heard of this?

Oh, and I forgot that I roasted those Sunchokes the other day that I got from Frieda’s.

I just put them on parchment paper, sprinkled them with pink sea salt and roasted them at 425 convection until they got a little brown.

They reminded me of French fries. Same taste and texture. I liked them. They went really well with some chard wraps.

And…

A new group just started another 21 Day Sugar Detox today. They start one each month. It really is a great way to kind of reset after a little too much overindulging.

If you’ve never done it before, here’s a good article on how to get started.

How to Get Started on the 21 Day Sugar Detox

And I also really like this article that I recently found by Diane about what to do about sugar and carb cravings.

What to Do About Sugar and Carb Craving

Oh and Kermit was on Live With Kelly and Michael this morning. It was awesome. And breakfast looked a little like this.

2014-02-03 10.14.23

Egg white scramble with spinach and chicken sausage in coconut oil with a baked purple sweet potato and coconut butter and cinnamon.

2014-02-03 10.14.46

It was delightful.

Have a great day!

Have you ever heard of Bullet Journaling?

Have you ever done the 21 Day Sugar Detox?

Are you excited about the Muppet movie coming out? (I can’t wait!)

I would love to see a Paleo recipe for the Nutzo balls!! I am doing the 21DSD this month too. I was bouncing back and forth between a whole30 and the 21DSD. However, I have a lot going on right now, and for me, the 21DSD is a lot less stressful it seems than the whole30. Plus I can still do therapeutic baking out of her cookbooks haha! I have had a BAD sweet tooth lately–especially at night, so hopefully this will kick it for a while! I hope you will also do posts about how your detox is going! ;)

I loveeeeeee those pro compression socks. Hearts <3 <3. I need to do another mini detox. I've gotten back on the sugar train and I need to get off at the next stop :)

I’m usually a sucker for the PRO sock of the month, but I just don’t like these. I would be all about them if the sock was black or gray…I just don’t like the look of the white socks. I’m hoping to order next month’s though, because I need some GREEN/St. Patty’s day ones for my March 15th half. I’ve never heard of bullet journaling but I’m going to go click on your link now :-)

Now sugar detox for me – I know how that would go – about 1 day max!!

Sweet Inspires! That’s my shoe! I have not seen the yellow but I think I love it!
The next Muppet movie looks really good. I didn’t care for the last one that much though.
I love sugar and carbs. I think a detox might kill me. ;)

Whoa… that bullet journal video was overwhelming in 3.5 seconds for me. Circles, boxes, indexing – granted it was a quick video for a broad overview, and it does look like the long run big picture would bring some better organization, but I think I like my calendar so I can see the days laid out.

Totally random, but what’s the difference: Yam v. Sweet Potato v. Purple Potato – educate me?

Oh, man. A sugar detox would be great, but it sounds so challenging! I’ll have to think about doing it for at least this month (since it’s the shortest).
