Where has this week gone? Really, I mean I just don’t know. Holy smokes. Anyone else feel like that?
I slept in past my alarm this morning again. Boo.
It was a bit gloomy though when I rolled out of bed an hour later than planned. We were pretty pumped about it actually.
Um, because we could use our awesome umbrellas.
And yes, we also like to sing in the rain.
Since I didn’t get up early enough to get my run in before having to get the boys ready for school, I took advantage of some time afterwards to run outside. I rarely get to run outside and I don’t think I had for about two weeks, so it was pretty exciting.
I’m doing the ASICS LA Marathon in just 5 weeks with a group of other bloggers. We’re all working with Coach Kastor a bit leading up to the race. Shoot, which reminds me, I never did my homework assignment. Beavis. Did you do it?
Those of us involved in the blogger challenge for the marathon got some fabulous Asics gear to train in and such.
We got some cool ASICS running shoes.
A photo bomber. Oh wait, he’s mine.
We also got some sweet running outfits.
I felt like it was a special occasion since it was raining and I got to run outside and all, so I got dressed up in the new gigs.
My favorite was these PR SHELTER™ GLOVES. They not only have a cool hidden pocket, but they are touch screen friendly and you can still use your iPhone with them on.
I’ve been saying someone needs to make gloves like this. I guess they already do. The smart one that I am didn’t figure it out until after my run which went down a little something like this.
Then I read the tag.
I like that they are affordable, but still have good sound quality.
They usually run for $29.99 each, but for a limited time they have all models (FitBuds and FitClips) and all colors available at Walgreens for only $19.99! A pretty sweet deal. I like keeping them in my car as an extra set.
Second part of my run was on the treadmill.
Okay, here are some other discounts you need to know about.
Pro Compression is having a big sale for 40% off compression socks and calf sleeves.
Use code FEB14 at checkout.
I have a few fun races in the next couple of weeks.
Coronado Valentine’s Day 1 mile run (The boys and I want to do this, but haven’t signed up yet.)
I ran the Women’s Running San Diego Half Marathon last year (my recap is here). It’s a really fun, casual race with a pretty sweet medal and lots of cool goodies at the finish party.
Some information about the race this year:
· Runners can sign up to be part of Team Edith to raise money for the Edith Sanford Breast Cancer foundation.
· Women’s Running Magazine Editor-in-Chief Jessie Sebor will be there running, as will the entire Women’s Running Magazine editorial team.
· Entertainment Tonight Host Mary Hart will also be racing for Team Edith
· Registration closes 2/16 or when sold out
· The race starts at NTC Park at Liberty Station in SD
I’m excited about it.
I have a discount code for you too so you can come run.
The code is WHYIRUN4. It’s $15 off the half marathon between now and registration close on 2/16.
Is anyone running it?
I’m still admiring last year’s medal.
Oh and, I already told you about this one, but if you need a race to sign up for after the Women’s Running Half Marathon, you can use code MAMAROCKS for $10 off the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon and 1/2.
And, whelp, I guess that’s it for the discounts at the moment. Wait, I have another one for 15% off NuttZo in case you need some. That’s STUFT-15.
Dang I love that stuff.
Hey, look at that, no food pictures today. It must be your lucky day. Ha.
Have a good one!
Do you have any races coming up?
Just curious, what makes you sign up for a race? (location, post race treats, the medal, the course, etc.)
