Well hello Monday. Oh how you like to sneak up so quickly.
Speaking of, Joaquin had a flashing reflector of mine last night and I told him specifically not to take it in the bathroom or close to the tub so it didn’t get wet because it would ruin it. Obviously he took it in the tub and then couldn’t figure out why it didn’t work anymore. I asked him why he took it in the tub after I told him not to. His response, “I was trying to be sneaky.”
Well, at least he’s honest (most of the time).
Oh and not sure how things go down at your house, but if I don’t set my alarm and I really want to sleep in, well, it doesn’t happen and I usually get woken up a little like this.
I took things easy yesterday and did a little time on the elliptical. Definitely brought back memories of all the time I logged on there when I couldn’t run through my injury.
Today started off with 6 miles on the treadmill while watching Parenthood. It was a really sad episode by the way.

Besides a little race action, we did some baking and a lot of eating over the weekend too.
We took a family trip to Trader Joe’s Saturday night after church. Somehow this Cowboy Bark got into our cart.
Somehow after a glass of wine later that night,
that delicious bark found it’s way onto a rather large date night dessert. Funny how that happens.
Both Kitty and the wine can share the blame for that one.
This gluten free STUFT green banana bread is becoming a weekend staple over here.
I didn’t have any Greek yogurt so I just subbed in about 1/3 cup of low fat milk and it still came out just perfectly. I think it’s the coconut oil. Coconut oil makes everything delicious.
On a whim yesterday I also roasted some colorful carrots.
I also randomly made took a turkey burger and did it up STUFT egg-rito style instead of a bun.
That worked out pretty well too.
Okay, I’ve gotta run to teach some classes, but I’ll leave you with a little Monday motivation.
This awesome chica, Emily Q. ran her first ever marathon wit a goal of just not walking and rocked it with a 9:44 pace to finish around 4:15:28. Go Emily!
So cool, right? Heck yes I know what giving up feels like, I’ve done it a billion times with different things, but if it’s something I really want I keep trying darn it because I want to see what can happen if I don’t.
