Well good afternoon.
Guess I didn’t get an early morning post up like I planned.
Guess I didn’t get an early morning treadmill run in like I planned either.
I DID get some extra snuggles and reading time with my little man and our “God’s books” this morning instead.
We were not alone during our special time.
So I did the whole Thursday “runch” thing again.
A few easy treadmill miles watching Parenthood and then some foam rolling.
Cute, huh? Gotta love neon and super excited that they’re coming out with women’s leggings soon. Woo hoo!
As always, 40% off and free shipping on the sock of the month. You can order on the website here.
Some random eats that have been going down over here just because I haven’t shown any food pictures for a couple days and I don’t want anyone going into withdrawals or anything.
That paleo healthy banana bake has been repeated just a few times.
Lots of avocados, Cholula and nutritional yeast going on pretty much anything and everything.
Oh, and randomly I made a no grain salmon pizza crust last night that came out pretty well.
Let me know if you might want the recipe. Super easy and darn good.
So, the other night we got a special invite for a VIP party to preview the new Jellyfish Discovery exhibit at the SEA LIFE® Aquarium.
Everyone was excited.
I’m going to do a little photo dump if you don’t mind so you can see all the fun stuff and get a preview of the new Jellyfish Discovery. It opens TODAY by the way.
The aquarium itself is really cool so I’ll show you all our favorites afterwards.
We started our night with some crafts outside. Obviously we made jellyfish.
Oh, I forgot. Someone started his night a little like this before the crafts.
He he. Yeah, he scoped this out for us.
Disclaimer- this is not always set up. It was a special event, but the treats were pretty awesome. They even had jellyfish cookies
and some really good brownies.
They have a cool area outside where you can build with Legos and touch the sea stars.
After crafts we got to learn all about jellyfish. Just in case you need to know about the life cycle of a jellyfish here you go.
Then we got to see the exhibit.
It’s a pretty small area, but filled with lots of cool hands on things for the kiddos.
(I did not wear bell bottoms, it’s the mirror.)
It was really cool in there. I like jellyfish when I can see them through the glass. I’m not a fan of seeing them in the ocean. In fact, there was about a 3 year period when I didn’t step foot in the ocean at all because I disliked them so much and they were everywhere here in southern California. Nice.
Here were some of our other favorites at the Sealife Aquarium during our short visit.
A little slide right at the beginning.
Finding scuba Lego men under the water.
And seeing them out of the water.
The shark tunnel
and one more underwater viewing spot where everything swam super close.
They have another little learning section at the end also.
A pretty cool restaurant is upstairs, but it was closed.
Whelp, that’s wrap. Enough pictures right?
The SEA LIFE® Aquarium and the new Jellyfish Discovery is pretty darn awesome. If you’re ever in Carlsbad you should check it out.
YOU should also check out LEGOLAND and the LEGOLAND Hotel. The boys keep begging to go back and stay in the same pirate room we stayed in before. Argh.
Okay, I guess I better start packing since I’m heading out of town tomorrow for the LA Marathon. Beavis.
What was the first thing you did after you woke up this morning?
Anyone want that salmon no grain pizza crust recipe? (I know random, but it was really good.)
Do you have an aquarium by you?
