It seems like they’re just racking them up these days, doesn’t? Ha.
I still have some sort of bug that’s trying to bring me down so I don’t feel like chatting food at all. I know, that is rare.
I will tell you though that last night called for a little down time on the couch with the man, a big bowl of soup and a little Phil Dunphy
I know, that’s the coolest bowl ever. I got it at Marshalls a really long time ago. They have the coolest bowls and mugs and stuff.
Oh and if you haven’t watched this past week’s Modern Family episode you need to. It was a good one. And now I really want to go to Vegas. Ha. We haven’t been since before kids.
The boys ran the Junior Carlsbad race this morning for the first time. It’s a great local event with 11 different races for all kids 12 and under (even a diaper dash). I plan on writing a full review of the weekend events later so for now we’ll just stick to today’s little race.
My man Judah is all business on race mornings. He was up early, dragging me out of bed and telling me he had to cleaned up for the race and all. Funny guy.
We made it there just in time to pick up the boys’ race numbers and get to the start line with 5 minutes to spare. This guy was not going to let us miss the start.
See, he means business. Ever since his first race.
1/4 of a mile- the perfect distance for a 4 year old race.
5 minutes at the start line- the perfect amount of time to pin on race numbers, take a few pictures and have Daddy meet up with us.
As much as I tried to have the boys both wear the same shirt for race day, they just weren’t having it. I guess those days are over. Oh well.
After the National Anthem they were off.
All of the older kid races were before ours and some of those kids looked like they really meant business. We were more in it just for the family fun.
This is my favorite picture by the way.
And this I guess is the new style to have the hair stick out the back of that hat. Maybe it’s aerodynamic or something.
The finish line came up quick. No one even had to walk. But we did see a few others take a tumble.
The boys all finished strong.
They were quick to find their medals.
And admire them.
Love these guys.
I’m such a proud mama. I love that they already love to get out there and race.
Also love that Daddy came with us. By the way, he said that 1/4 mile was the perfect distance for all of us, not just for 4 years olds. Love that guy.
I’ve taught them well, and they look for post race treats pretty much immediately upon finishing.
They had these new Dole Fruit Squish’ems that they boys really liked.
Afterwards I picked up my number and goodies for tomorrow. Ran into my hometown buddy and awesome Disney race announcer Rudy.
We last hung out at our first family race in Big Sur.
The Health and Fitness Expo was pretty small so it was easy to get your shirt and goodies bag and find a few good racing type things.
This one was a hit.
And highlight of the expo for me was spotting the NuttZo booth, but also finally meeting the amazing Danielle behind it all.
She is just as awesome as I imagined. Love her.
And you NEED to know there is an AMAZING SALE right now on the website and they have certain jars of NuttZo for $5. Yes, that’s right only $5 (and they usually retail for $12.99).
You can use code STUFT-15 for an extra 15% off too.
Don’t forget about that. Good stuff friends. The Peanut Free NuttZo is my favorite.
Hung out just a bit afterwards to check out the cool “bullet train”
pet the tiger
and get a few minutes of sand play time.
It was too gorgeous out not to.
It was a good day.
Thank you Competitor for inviting us to be a part of this awesome event. It was such a fun family time for everyone.
We’ll be back every year now for sure. Watch out.
What are you up to this weekend?
Do you have any local family events line this?
