Scattered Miles, a Cool Mask, the LOVE Reveal and Some Shares

Yesterday I didn’t get to my run until about 4:30pm. I slept in instead of getting on the treadmill and taught a BOSU class earlier in the day, but didn’t fit in a run. Man, it’s tough to do it in the afternoon. Not my cup of tea, but that was the deal I made with myself.

I took it very slow, but got in 9 hilly miles.

Spoiler alert- review and a GIVEAWAY coming up tomorrow.

This morning there were a few scattered showers. I had a few scattered runs. Ha.

Managed to not sleep in past the alarm for a change and got in 10 easy treadmill miles.

Super cool kiddo with a super cool mask Daddy made at 5:30 am that needed mama attention so my morning run was done.

Later on taught a spin class and did a couple really short runs at the gym (to catch the end of Kelly and Michael) and then at home to watch the rest of the movie.

15.5 miles total for the day. None of them fast like I planned, but oh well. Got it done.

Did you see the LOVE reveal?

Oh heck yes, some of you had it right, the new Love Grown Foods product is Power O’s. This awesome cereal.

These Power O’s come in 4 different flavors and we’ve been eating our way through all of them.

Seriously, we’ve been eating A LOT of these.

Pretty cool that they’re made out of beans and brown rice flour.

These are the stats for the strawberry ones. They have a plain flavor that has very minimal sugar. We can attest though that all the flavors are darn good.

Yep, love them all.

And….. you can still enter the Power O’s GIVEAWAY for a couple more days!

Just now our afternoon snackage went down a little something like this.

Power O’s for the boys.

I also got this email from reader Heather with her incredible story.

Hi there!

My name is Heather Von St. James and I’m reaching out to you today in hopes that you will help me with a cause that is very near and dear to my heart. At age 36, I was diagnosed with mesothelioma just 3 ½ months after my first and only child, Lily, was born. I was given just 15 months to live unless I underwent a drastic surgery to remove my left lung. Miraculously, I beat the odds and I’m still here eight years later.

Asbestos is not banned in the US, yet it’s the only known cause of mesothelioma. I was exposed to asbestos through my fathers work jacket when I was just a little girl; my diagnosis came about 30 years later. Once diagnosed, most patients die within 2 years. I am one of few survivors who openly share their story and work to spread awareness regarding the dangers of asbestos.

In honor of  Asbestos Awareness Week (April 1-7), I have created a webpage dedicated to raising awareness. I would love it if you would be willing to share it on your blog to help educate and protect your readers from this preventable disease!

Here’s the link to my awareness page:

And.. not sure if you’re nosey like me, but I saw this article what ultrarunner Dean Karnazes has in his fridge.

I don’t know why I always think it’s so fun to look in other people’s fridge. I guess I like looking in their cupboards too actually.

And a couple inspirational quotes just because:

And this one is pretty much the story of my life.

When anyone tells me I can't do anything, I'm just not listening any more. Florence Griffith Joyner #ifeverybodyran

Okay, I’m off.

That green plantain cake AND a clothing review/giveaway coming up tomorrow.

Have a good one!

Thank you so much for the share! You are awesome! Of course I love seeing what people have in their fridge. I am a food voyeur! Lol. I am digging the Baked Oatmeal from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe lately for breakfast. I cut the oil and sugar and add chia seeds. So so so good!

I think it’s really interesting to see what people have in their fridge!

I had some grapes at work with the kiddos and some chocolate when I got home. That was pretty much all of my snacking for the day.

I love that quote from FloJo!!
Our fridge is fairly boring – certainly not like Dean’s with so many of the same thing.
Today wasn’t a big snacking day for me – I barely worked out so less eating required!!

I love that with most kids, the simplest toy is the best – that mask is awesome and I’m sure they really enjoyed it! At least it put a smile on my face.

Ah I absolutely love looking through other people’s cupboards/pantry’s/fridges, oohing and ahhing at their products and asking them about them. Sometimes if I see something I’ve been wanting to try but haven’t made the jump to actually purchase, they’ll let me have a little sample bite 😉

Oh and forgot to mention that I also find afternoon runs harder than doing them first thing in the morning too…just feel a bit more sluggish! I am for sure an early morning runner/exerciser….afternoons are just busy here with 3 boys in baseball! Loving every minute of it !

Oh and do u run on an empty stomach or do u eat before a run in the a.m.? If so , what do u typically eat?

Did the TC fit you – the capris? I like mine but they don’t sell XS & they were big for me around the top. I kept wanting to pull them up! 🙂 Well, I did cause they kept slipping down… 😉 Capris seem to be the only thing I wear an XS in – don’t know why! 🙂
