I just left again this morning with a bit of a late start getting out the door at 4:45 am. It was lovely. Not sure how much, if any actually, sleep I got. I also don’t know what the heck is in my carry on bag, but hey, I’m in route for another fun filled race weekend.
Thought I’d share just a few things from my short stay at home. It’s my Friday gift to you.
Let’s see, some workouts. After the marathon on Monday, I did a little easy elliptical at the hotel gym Tuesday and then walked around the city with the girls.
Wednesday I ran a few slow miles on the treadmill at home.
I made darn sure my treadmill time didn’t go into any of our quality morning time with these guys before taking them to school.
I just can’t get enough of them when I get back from being away.
I taught a spin class while they were at school. Heck yes I wore my 2014 Boston Marathon shirt.
Yesterday I ran a little on the treadmill again in the morning.
I was back to the Netflix movie entertainment thing. This movie was super cute by the way. Have you seen it?
Then last night I taught my usual classes at the gym. Blabbed my way through them by talking all about Boston.
Here are some other random things that have gone down in my short stay at home.
A lot of eating. I’m always super hungry for two days after a marathon. I threw together this random egg bake the other day.
I pretty much just put in anything I could find in the fridge. Chicken sausage, broccoli, zucchini, tomatoes, basil and egg whites. I mixed it all together with some Italian seasoning, garlic salt and crushed red pepper and put it in a dish and baked it at 425 a little too long. It was still good though.
Oh and I can’t even tell you how much popcorn I’ve been eating. I’m surprised my teeth are holding up as well as they are. Ha.
Besides eating everything in sight, I tried to get as much time as possible hanging with these guys.
They were pretty excited about their Modern Pastry treats Mommy brought home.
Luckily they like to share with Mommy.
They decided we needed a family night the other night that included a quick trip to the park
followed by a pajama party
complete with pizza
and the movie that they got from the Easter bunny.
It was a blast. Guess who were the only ones who stayed awake for the whole movie. Yep, the boys. Both STUFT Daddy and I fell asleep. Classic.
In other news, these two cats just started a little challenge of their own.
I know, right? They look pretty pumped.
I have to be honest, I don’t usually buy special food for these two. They get a can of wet food every day, but the dry food I’m usually just looking for a bargain.
I recently got a few coupons for Purina ONE cat food and was asked to join the 28 Day Challenge with the cats. I decided it would be a win win for everyone involved.
Here’s a little about the challenge. I’m hoping I’ll notice these visible results they talk about. We shall see.
After just a few weeks you should see changes in your cat, including eager eating, healthy energy, less waste, bright eyes, a shiny coat and clean teeth.
Here’s why this matters:
Cat owners might love their cats – but how much do they really know about their health? 96% of cat owners say that in general, their cat is healthy, according to a recent survey by Wakefield Research for Purina ONE. But do they really know what that means? The signs that a cat is unhealthy are more difficult to spot than you might think. 76% of cat owners don’t know that cats sometimes purr when they’re unhappy, and 75% don’t know that a cat’s diet requires more protein than a dog’s diet. In addition, more than 1 in 4 (27%) don’t know that not eating can be a sign of sickness in cats.
I did NOT know that cats sometimes purr when they’re unhappy. Did you?
Anyhoo, we’ve got these guys all set up with their new Purina ONE food for the challenge.
Purina ONE has a lot of good tips on their website also about finding the right food for your cat. I’m starting to feel a little guilty that I’m just now making a better change for them. Oopsies.
I’ll keep you updated on their progress and I have some coupons to give away to some of you also, so we’ll revisit how things are going in a week or so.
In other random news really quick, when I was washing all my Handful bra pads last night,
I remembered that they are having a huge sale on their original Handful Bras that are being discontinued.
They are on sale for only $25. Check out the sale here.
And, not that I’m already focusing on the next marathon, but the headliner for the SUJA Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon was just announced.
How cool is that? I love that song “Wake Me Up”.
There’s still time to register and come run. Code MAMAROCKS gets $10 off the full OR half marathon.
I have just a couple more random things to make the rest of your day just that much better.
I bought his tank top over a year ago for the boys. Yesterday Judah FINALLY wanted to wear it. Joaquin isn’t ready to give up the hand me downs just yet.
This reading from the boys’ devotional the other night was awesome.
Check out our new additions to our STUFT family.
It’s okay to be jealous. You know you want them. Ha ha.
And, a little motivational quote from Runner’s World.
So true. Everyone has dreams, but man, making them really come true is hard work. Soooooo worth it though.
Have a wonderful rest of your Friday and a great weekend!
Am I really running another marathon in less than two days? What the?
Anyone know what our new additions are?
What are your plans for the weekend?
Who else is going to be in Big Sur?
