I got quite a lot of new spin song recommendations on instagram yesterday too. I’m pretty excited about coming up with a good playlist for tomorrow’s class.
Flexible is the word of the day today.
When I used to be a full time middle school PE teacher and we were opening a brand new school without bathrooms or equipment we used the “F” word A LOT. We had to be flexible with our plans and our schedule daily. I’m learning that life is very similar sometimes.
This is what I was doing last night at 10:30 pm.
Not the plan. These days I like to be in bed around 10 or so, but after I taught my classes at the gym I attempted to make a quick stop at Costco for some necessities.
It wasn’t quick and I got a lot more than just a few necessities.
So when I finally got a chance to I park it on the couch with a Costco shrimp roll I attempted to watch a little Dancing With the Stars while getting some work done.
That didn’t go so well either. Those night time “office hours” don’t happen often, but when they do, they always go way too long and I get to bed way too late. Not good. I better not let it happen again.
Needless to say, my plan to wake up at 5:00 am this morning did go as planned. Before I knew it I had a couple visitors who really wanted to play. So we did.
Finally got on the treadmill for 7 easy miles.
Thought I’d dress up for the occasion in my oldest Target shorts.
Then I didn’t mess around at all with my breakfast.
Yes, this egg white scramble was pretty spectacular. My favorite chicken apple sausage, shaved Brussels sprouts and zucchini with egg whites in coconut oil and of course topped with Scotty B’s sweet bacon jalapeño sauce. Good stuff.
I taught a BOSU class later on.
Here’s a little move for the day for you. One-leg shoulder push up on the BOSU.
It’s not easy friends. It can be done on the floor too, but the BOSU just makes it that much better. Ha.

I’m not very flexible in a physical sense either. I’m so stiff. Even though I was a gymnast for years, I still really need to work on my flexibility. Speaking of that and YouTube, iFit just launched a new iFit Daily Yoga class on their channel. I was just talking about wanting to find a good yoga video a couple of weeks ago that I could do at home. I think this might be my answer. I just subscribed to their iFit Live channel.
Here’s the first yoga video. It’s about 30 minutes and they’ll be coming out with a new one every day. In fact, they already have the second one out so I’m already a day behind. Ha. I’m not planning on doing it everyday, but I’m definitely going to try to do it at least once a week for the rest of the month.
They even use the same cool yoga block that I have. It must be a sign.
Okay and with that and with this matcha green tea almond milk protein drink I’m off.
I really need to be flexible with the rest of my afternoon. I’m a little overwhelmed at the moment and need a few deep breaths (or maybe this yoga routine) before I tackle my to-do list.
Working on physical and mental flexibility today. Yikes.

I’m going all out and making lazy mama lasagna. It’s been awhile.
