The Daily Happenings and Being Purposeful

Today’s workout:

10 mile treadmill run early in the morning.

I taught a quick BOSU class later also.

A couple of other random things from today.

These chickens are freaking hilarious.

They’re loud and they leave poop everywhere and they like to come up by the house in the morning.

Don’t mind that mess in the background. The boys needed to empty a bucket because they needed somewhere to house a lizard they caught.

Yeah.

That’s the lizard. Lovely.

The boys and I polished off another box of Love Grown Foods Power O’s this morning.

I’m not quite sure how long an open box of cereal is supposed to last, but it does not last long at our house.

Oh and I realize I never gave an update on my little popcorn comparison. I ordered some different popcorn from Amazon awhile ago and finally tried this Tiny But Mighty Popcorn.

It was pretty much just like they advertise. It’s smaller, and there are barely any kernels left over. I used our air popper and was pleasantly surprised.

Dang I love popcorn.

We got the Love Notes we ordered from Erica Sara Designs for Mother’s Day in the mail and finally opened them up today.

I mean really, how awesome are these? Erica is so talented.

My next race is in less than two weeks. SUJA Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon is June 1st.

We’re getting a group together to do a little shake out run the day before with Pro Compression.

Check it out!

Refreshments, giveaways, fun running friends………. all sorts of awesomeness.

Come meet up with us!

And with that, I’ve got a deep thought for the night. I actually started the day with this, but I’m ending it with it also.

My friend Lindsey shared this on instagram the other day and I just love it.

To be totally honest I’m a little overwhelmed at the moment. I’ve got a lot going on I need to focus on and some really great opportunities coming up in the near future that I need to plan and get a grasp on.

I’ve barely been keeping my head above water lately and even though I knew life gets messy, sometimes I’m guilty of just adding to the mess instead of cleaning up a few things first. Does that make sense?

I mean, I get it. Life is messy. Thank goodness because mine sure is, and trying to be perfect is way overrated, but I really need to focus on a few things at the moment and work on being more purposeful.

So, that’s what I’m going to do. It might take a couple days (or weeks or months), but I need some mental and physical rest time. Easier said than done, but it’s time.

Anyone else want to take some time with me?

Smile

Please tell me we’re not the only ones who go through cereal rather quickly.

What’s your favorite cereal?

Who’s going to come run with us May 31st in San Diego? I want to meet you! He he.

Fantastic jewelry!!!! Just precious!!!!! My boys are 17, 20, and 22. Two home from college and the other in high school. Cereal MUST be bought at Costco just to last a couple of days around here, not to mention the milk!! Hope that helps you feel better about your cereal consumption……..your future with those two handsome boys looks hungry and LOTS of fun!!! LOVE my boys!

Can we even pick a favorite cereal 😛 haha

That cereal looks like something my kids would love…they are cereal freaks and it’s so hard to find good ones. I definitely have issues with the “healthy” cereals and their tiny boxes!

Oh I hear you – I tend to just keep piling it all on rather than taking care of the things I can at the moment. I hope you can get some down time.

I’m so happy! 2 things… My family and I are staying at the Bahia for RnRSD. It was one of the host hotels. Usually it’s too expensive, but RnR gave a great price break. And we love mission (and gabbiano’s and sara’s). I’m running, don’t leave that shakeout run without me! I mean, you can leave me after we start =). Yeah! So stoked!!! Just made my day! Second, what is the inside of the kernel? Why is it that color? I had to do a double take and at first it looked like furikake seasoning…something we hawaiians put on our popcorn.

I guess I don’t understand, if you need to rest, why don’t you rest? I mean, this much running doesn’t even seem like much of a taper, especially since you teach fitness classes too. It seems like you are running an awful lot for races that you don’t have to do. You don’t have to run all these races. You don’t have to run the Rock and Roll Marathon in San Diego. Nobody is forcing you to do it. It’s just another race, and you’ve done a lot this year. I just don’t understand how you can say that you need a physical and mental break when you can skip or shorten a treadmill run in the morning and sleep in or skip the second run of the day that you did the other day or not run 70 miles in a week. The opportunity for a break is there.
