The Retirement Party and a New Sauce- Rocky Mountain Sriracha GIVEAWAY

The Retirement Party and a New Sauce- Rocky Mountain Sriracha GIVEAWAY

Good morning! Hope you’re enjoying your long weekend.

It’s a rest day and they boys and I have big plans to stay in our pajamas as long as possible this morning, so we’ll make this snappy.

Yesterday afternoon I fit in a quick little treadmill runch. Nothing exciting, but I taught boot camp in the morning and wanted to get a run in yesterday so today could be a real rest day.

2014-05-24 13.27.57

This morning I’m really glad I did. I’m learning that full rest days are so important.

Last night we had a little retirement parry for Mom. There were a lot of highlights at the party, but one of them was this Black Box wine.

We’ve always been about the wine boxes for parties. Mom and Dad brought a box of white zin to my college graduation party. Well, this Black Box stuff is pretty high class. I think boxed wine is making a comeback and I learned that it’s actually better because not as much air gets in when you pour it. Who knew?

Oh man, if anyone deserves retirement, it’s Mom. She’s worked her bootie off for so long. I promised I wouldn’t post any pictures of her on instagram last night, but didn’t make any promises about the blog.

Congrats Mom!

We love you and can’t wait to fill up your free schedule. Ha.

Yeah, the boys and I have big plans. We were already making them last night in fact during our reading and prayer time.

2014-05-24 20.30.19-1

Wow. Guess someone had a greasy face last night. Lovely. I guess that’s a sign of having a good time. Ha.

Moving on.

I have a confession. Even though we have chickens that lay eggs, I do still buy those hard boiled eggs from Costco from time to time and I still order my huge jugs of egg whites.

2014-05-25 07.53.53 HDR

It’s just so easy and I really love these in the summer because I add the egg whites to smoothies (like the egg-cellent mocha smoothie). You can use them in just about anything.

They’re having a big Memorial Day weekend sale, so thought I should pass it along in case you want some huge jugs of your own.

Here are the codes to use for the sale.

OBHELP2G = $10 off a 2-gallon order

(normal retail $78. Now only $66)

OBHELP6H = $15 off a 6 half gallon case order (normal retail $138. Now only $107)

OBHELP4G = $20 off a 4 gallon case order (normal retail $156. Now only $118)

OBHELP2H = $5 Off our 2 half gallons or shipments to Hawaii and Alaska

All codes are good on the website- Egg Whites International.

(Codes only good through Monday, May 26,, 2014.)

I was also recently sent a new sriracha sauce to try.

Rocky Mountain Sriracha.

I love hot sauces and sriracha so was really excited to try this one made without preservatives and with only natural and organic ingredients.

(Ingredients include: Fresh Fresno Peppers, Organic Agave Nectar, Organic Sea Salt, Organic Garlic, Gourmet Vinegar)

It’s a new product out that was started as a class project at Colorado Mesa University. I’m all about supporting big dreams and new ideas and companies.

So far, I’ve tested it out on a little egg white scramble (with kale and zucchini).

It is delicious. Just the right amount of spicy. It’s a little thick, so you have to spoon it on rather than pour it, but man is it ever delicious.

I can’t wait to experiment with it a little more. I’m thinking it will be great in stir fries, my cold spaghetti squash peanutty noodles, on a meatza pizza and as a salad dressing. Oh, the ideas……

Anyhoo, since they’re a new company they have a kickstarter page here where you can order jars, find the list of ingredients, read reviews and support their campaign.

Rocky Mountain Sriracha

And, because it’s a holiday weekend and I love this sauce and I love all of you, I have a couple jars of this to give away.

Let me know what else I should try with this. I want to try to make a salad dressing, but not sure exactly what else to add to make it. Have you ever made a salad dressing with sriracha?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Hope your doing the things that make you happy and are getting some quality time to rest and spend with friends and family.

Two winners will be randomly chosen. Each winner will receive one jar of Rocky Mountain Sriracha.

    Staci says:

    Yes I have made a salad dressing with sriracha! I mix it with plain Greek yogurt and thin with vinegar (usually apple cider, but have experimented with different kinds). Then add fresh ground pepper and sea salt (I like a red chili sea salt for extra kick:). This same combo is good with wasabi paste instead of sriracha if you like wasabi, and leave out the vinegar for a veggie dip.
