Pets on the Mill, Some Pro Tights and Double BOSU Moves


I don’t know what’s up with our animals and the treadmill lately. I walked in on this today.

I mean, if the pets are going to get comfortable on there they might as well clean it or something. Ha ha.

Oh Kitty.

He let me have my turn and I did 10 miles while watching this cute movie.

I also did a little iFit browsing on Amazon while I was on there too. It was all about multi-tasking today.

Dang. This new Garmin is $450 and has a touch screen and can keep track of your mileage inside. That’s pretty cool. That’s also one hefty price tag.

I am curious though just how many miles I actually do when I’m on the treadmill. I step on the side a lot and get a drink of water, wipe my sweat, etc. I always wonder about that. I’d guess I run about 1/2 a mile less than the treadmill actually says at the end of my run.

I’m pretty sure breakfast is my favorite meal of the day.

I’m also pretty sure that I pile as many greens into my daily egg white scramble as possible and that I am incapable of having a small breakfast. I have at least one SunButter and blueberry sandwich a day. I have a feeling they won’t be getting old anytime soon.


Our big plans included morning swim lessons complete with the new goggles.

The boys were really into me getting in the pool while they had their lessons. I took one for the team and did a little pool running and about 10 or so laps while they swam. Pretty much just enough movement so I didn’t get cold and could spy on the boys and wave.

It totally brought back memories of pool running this time last year though. Oh what a difference a year makes.

I would like to thank Sprouts Farmer’s Market for a great return policy for those of us who are really great at losing receipts.

I would also like to thank them for giving away free balloons today.

Okay, moving on.

Pro Compression is coming out with tights later this month. Yeah, they’ve mastered compression socks and are now going to have these awesome tights too.

I’m currently wearing them and wore them to teach a class earlier. I’m pretty much in love.

You can wear them like this

or you can turn the bottom up to show the cute stripes like this.

The same goes for the top. You can hike them up if you’re a fan of the SPANX style (like myself- I love Spanx)

or you can turn them down to show off the stripes and have them sit low on the waist.

The material is so comfy and they even have the little hidden waist pocket.

It might be safe to say they’re my favorite tights at the moment.

I can’t wait for them to come out so you can try them. The word from Pro is that they’ll be ready in about two weeks. Woot!


So, since it’s Tuesday and all. Here are some fun moves from class to share. We did some experimenting with two BOSU balls instead of just one for a change. Here are my favorites.

Jumping lunges.

Plank push ups.

Someone on Instagram told me to try those plank push ups from last week on the BOSU ball. I listened and we gave it a shot in class.

Definitely not easy to take pictures of, but I tried.

And since my picture taking didn’t go over so well, I did a little video for you.

I think that goes for anything in life that you’re passionate about. It might not be running, it might be something totally different, but never limit where your dreams can take you.

    I think you just gave me the excuse I needed to get the pink BOSU!!! I’ve been wanting it but couldn’t justify it since I already have one – however, I need to do those jumping lunges and plank push-ups!!!
    And, I always think the same thing – I probably lose a little time/distance on treadmill runs because I jump on the sides when I get a drink.

    haha my cats used to sleep on the TM as well…but they have tons of fur.I have this idea that they’re somehow responsible for the death of my precious TM…
    I’d love to try that artic zero; actually, I think it would be an awesome thing for my Father in law, who’s diabetic but had a major sweet tooth 🙂

    Oh Kristin! I sure do hope when I come back to SD you’re doing class =). I gotta show you my version of plank to pushups. I like the last exercise on the bosu you did. Try staying in a squat position and then just pulsing up and down (not all the way up and not all the way down)…just halfsies. Pulse for 30-45 seconds. Another good one is one leg on each bosu, with weighted dumbbell or not and do sumo/goblet squats. So good! Ummmm, and I’ll send you an email later today regarding the Beach cities challenge. Still surprised you didn’t know about it =).

    Maybe the animals just want to make sure you are getting your runs in. Cannot wait for the pro tights. Will be a while (9 more weeks until baby #2 arrives) before they will fit me but still cannot wait!

    I was lucky enough to receive a free outfit from Lululemon when I paced the SF marathon last year… and the tights I got from there are insanely comfortable!
    That’s so cool how you can roll up the bottom of those ProCompression ones though. I’ll need to look into getting a pair (since I wear their compression socks all the time and love them!).

    I have been eating the same breakfast a lot recently!!! Mine is after an early morning workout and has been consisting of a protein smoothie with some sort of toast! I haven’t gotten sick of it yet, plus it doesn’t hurt that it’s fairly easy to make before heading to work!
