Try It Thursday- Two Moves and Healthy Protein Chocolate Sauce

This is going to be snappy.

I haven’t started packing and I leave on less than 12 hours.

Yep. Nothing new over here. Working under pressure as usual.

I didn’t go for an early morning run. I still woke up early, but no running today except for a few planned pool running laps while the boys take swim lessons.

I just told the boys they’re going to have to help me pack for my trip and pick out a race outfit.

Joaquin REALLY wants me to race in my Tinkerbell outfit. He’s going to be a little disappointment. Ha.

Smile

In case you want to know what other kinds of things go down over here with our summer bonding time, here you go.

Good times.

I tried a couple new moves in my class I taught the other day so thought I’d pass them along so you can try them out.

The dips use a BOSU and a step and the hollow man uses just the BOSU. You can easily do the dips on a bench.

The second move starts in a standing position and without using your hands goes into this hollow man.

Here’s a quick video of my sweaty, post class self demonstrating the moves.

And yes, I’m still working on the whole self video taping thing at the gym.

Here’s something else you really must try.

Mmmm hmm…

Not time to edit photos right now and make this look all pretty and such, but this healthy Vega protein dark chocolate sauce I whipped up yesterday and today is delightful.

I used Vega Sport Protein Powder for this. It blended really easily just by using a knife to mix it up and tasted fabulous.

Here you go.

I’ve been putting it on sliced apples.

They’ve gone delightfully well with a Sunbutter and blueberry sandwich and the no grain maple cake.

Just saying.

Oh and one more thing to try today.

I’m going to TRY to be packed and ready and make my flight on time. I always get nervous when I’m not familiar where I’m going. Eeekkk….

What’s your favorite chocolate sauce?

Remind me again what I need to do in Seattle while I’m there. Get coffee and what else?

I’ve never been to Seattle either, but I know that after you get the coffee, you must DRINK IT!! Man I’m jealous; could really go for a nice brew from up there. Good luck and have fun!

You can go to that one outdoor market and see the guys throw fish around. They have a scary looking one that has a wire going through it… they pull the wire sometimes and scare people (because it makes the fish look like it’s trying to bite). This is what I remember from when I went during high school, hahaha.

Pike Place market is awesome- I always take people there when they come visit Sea. It can get crowded, but it’s worth it for all of the sights and sounds and tastes! The fish throwing is cool, but you can also sample all sorts of beautiful fresh produce while you are there. Be sure to hit up the hot pepper jelly stand at the market! They make a ghost chili jelly that is SUPER spicy and also totally delicious. My favorite is the pomegranate habanero, though. The market is also where the very first Starbucks is! I like Cafe Vita coffee more than the ‘bucks, though. Fran’s chocolate’s is down by the waterfront there, too. They make a to-die-for salted caramel.

The R’n’R starts and finishes right at Seattle center, which is where the Space Needle is. The Dale Chihuly Gardens of glass museum at Seattle Center is INCREDIBLE. The glass art is totally beautiful and out of this world. I just got reminded that Sir Mix a Lot is playing the concert at the finish area this weekend, so funny. “Seattle got BACK!”
