I am participating in a sponsored campaign hosted by Emergen-C® I received compensation for this post. While all opinions stated are my own, I make no claims about Emergen-C as a product or its effectiveness.
I recently received a very cool package from Emergen-C.
I had heard about the product before, but had never taken it. It actually came at the perfect time after the Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon when I suffered from major calf cramps and dehydration post run. I was really excited to give these packets a try.
Emergen-C comes in a lot of different flavors from original Emergen-C, to Emergen-C Immune+®, to Emergen-C Kidz® and more.
I’ve been having one a day to make it part of my daily vitamin intake. I’ve never really been conscious of the amount of vitamin C I have on a daily basis before, but I know that with the amount of training I do I want to give my body proper immune support. I’m also paying close attention to replenishing my electrolytes on a daily basis.
There is cane sugar, fructose and stevia leaf extract in them with 5 grams of sugar. I like that they don’t use artificial sugars.
I’ve tried the three flavors they sent me and I’m not sure which one is my favorite. I’ve experimented with them all though.
It’s just what I do.
These packets make it easy to have on the go, just mixed with water or in a little mocktail.
I’m feeling good after adding them to my daily routine. I haven’t been dehydrated or felt under the weather (just mentally tired from the whole Kitty thing) and my energy levels are good.
These are not very sweet so when mixed with water it’s just a bit fruity and fizzy. I was expecting it to taste a lot sweeter, but I guess it doesn’t because of the minimal sugars added (which is a good thing).
I’m never one to just mix things with water so I’ll show you three of my favorite ways to drink them.
Cranberry-Pomegranate Sweet Tart Fizz
one packet of Cranberry-Pomegranate Emergen-C
4-6 ounces of water
tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (optional)
I like mixing the Super Orange flavor with some tea for a little afternoon energy enhancement. Here’s my favorite combination so far.
Boosting Orange Tea
8-12 ounces iced tea
one packet of Super Orange Emergen-C
tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional)
(I brew my tea and then pour over ice before adding the water and the packet.
Now this next one might just be my favorite. I mean, how can it not be with both coffee and chocolate in it, right? It’s a little different because of the fizz, but still fun. I guess raspberry and chocolate are always fun together though.
Chocolate Raspberry Mocha
one packet Raspberry Emergen-C
8-12 ounces milk of choice (I use unsweetened almond milk)
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
frozen coffee cubes or 2-3 teaspoons instant coffee
Here’s how this went down.
I combined the Raspberry packet with the milk and cocoa powder and used the Nutribullet to blend it.
Then I poured it over my coffee cubes.
They have a lot of other fun recipes on their website here. They have one for orange muffins that I’m so going to make for the family. Obviously I’ll have to make them one of my green varieties. Ha.
I also just saw this recipe for Emergen-C Guacamole. Now that’s just brilliant.
Emergen-C would like to give one luck reader a three-month supply of supplement packets and an Emergen-C water bottle.
I just love giveaways.
