You know, one day can easily turn into the whole weekend with the playing hooky thing.
One day wasn’t enough. It never is. So, we’re kind of still playing hooky around here.
Friday- home elliptical for 70 minutes.
I got quite a bit of multi-tasking done.
It was nice for a little change up.
This morning I got on the treadmill for 11 miles.
I tried out this new iFit band I was sent to review. I’m really not that great with gadgets and trying to figure everything out, but so far so good with this one.
I watched this movie.
It was cute. Nothing too great and I’d wait for the holidays. It was weird watching a Christmas time movie in July.
Taught boot camp and then took advantage of the cooler morning and a little time to chat with my friend on the trails.
Random, but speaking of trails, I just saw this Stairway to Heaven Half Marathon online. It looks pretty darn cool.
Our first hooky day looked a little like this.
Yep. We say the new Planes movie. It was cute. Just like when we saw the first one, there was a little lesson for me in there.
Don’t go too fast or you’ll crash. Don’t go into the red zone. Sometimes you just don’t have control of what life brings your way.
The movie was a little loud and dark at some points with the fires and stuff and Joaquin wasn’t a fan of that. At one point he screamed “I’m never watching this movie again.”
Everything was good at the end though, but he’s like me and doesn’t like any conflict or bad guys or darkness in movies.
*Random movie ticket warning- Fandango charges a $5 “convenience fee”. I was not aware of this until after I bought our tickets. Watch out for that.
Looks like the whole family is getting comfortable with 8th position.
So much for Daddy trying to teach us “If you’re not first, you’re last.” Ha ha. Kidding.
We hit up one of our favorites for lunch.
It’s a skill. Somehow I managed to only use one plate for my salad this time. That was a first. But seriously, Souplantation really needs bigger plates. This picture was before all the hot sauce and dressing obviously. There wasn’t much time for other pictures. We had to eat fast with the boys before they really caused a commotion there.
I had to try one of each muffin.
This morning I made this smoothie in between my run and boot camp.
Strawberry Protein Pick Me Up Smoothie
Inside the smoothie- lots of spinach, 1/2 cup egg whites, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1 tablespoon instant coffee, 1 tablespoons Vega Sport vanilla protein powder, 3/4 cup frozen strawberries, splash of almond and cinnamon.
It was good. The strawberries and little bit of protein powder added just enough sweetness, but you might want to add more sweetener or 1/2 a frozen banana also.
Yesterday I stocked up of a few more Yasso bars for today.
We’ve been delivering them around town spreading a little frozen Greek yogurt love. It’s been fun.
I’ll fill you in on our whole delivery day and a fun new creation I made with these bars in my next post (Since there’s a giveaway involved too), but just in case you need a little smile this afternoon I thought I’d show you how haircuts go down here.
The boys even asked for extra mousse.
STUFT Daddy asked for a strong iced coffee.
The snack of the day today was this dip.
Oh heck yes, this is a new version of peanutty pumpkin dip and it’s just magnificent. Recipe coming soon.
Um…… yes please. North Shore Goodies Coconut Peanut Butter. Delicious. Two ingredients.
That’s all they need. They do need a bigger serving size though.
Ha ha. I mean, really, if you can eat just a teaspoon of any nut butter at a time you deserve an award.
I just checked out all their products on the website and I pretty much want everything.
I’m going to be on the search for this when we’re in Kauai for The Kauai Marathon. I’m going to bring an extra bag so I can stock up.
I love new fun nut butter discoveries. (Thank you Tutu for sharing your goods with me.)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Did you know about the Fandago “convenience fee”?
Any fun random nut butter finds?
Have you tried making smoothies with egg whites?
Most importantly, how do you feel about getting your hair cut?
