Just a Day With the Boys and a BOSU Workout

Just a Day With the Boys and a BOSU Workout

There really is something to getting up earlier before the hectic day starts.

I stood outside this morning for a minute to just take a deep breath or two before getting on the treadmill.

My legs were tired today. Thought about doing speed work, but talked myself out it pretty quickly.

Planned on 8 miles, but went for 9 while I was on there.

We had a busy morning so took a little snack on the run.

I made a simple version of the old Savory Breakfast STUFTwich.

I used a whole grain bagel thin and yes, I microwaved the egg whites. I was in a hurry. Sometimes you just have to do that.

I’ve been dabbling with the Vega Sport electrolyte hydrator lately. Yesterday I discovered it was really good blended with spinach and a little apple cider vinegar.

This morning I did the same, but added some matcha green tea powder to the mix too.

I taught spin today, but a BOSU class yesterday.

I try to make the first 15 minutes of so of class HIIT based. It’s easy to do with big moves and a BOSU.

Here are four of my favorite moves from yesterday.

These can easily be done at home on the floor if you don’t have a BOSU ball. We did about a minute each, one right after the other and went through twice.

Jumping Lunges

One-arm Power Jacks

BOSU Burpees

Push Ups

I made a short video too in case you want to do the five minute workout with me. Sometimes it’s easier to do it when someone is doing it with you, yes?

Of course YouTube isn’t working at the moment. I mean really, why should it?

Oh wait, it worked. Here’s the video. Yay!

Don’t mind my not that great push up form. I better work on that.

I spent some quality time with the boys today. That always means time at the pool.

I love doing some easy pool running while spying on the swim lessons.

I think I mentioned it in my last post, but frozen avocado is the best ice pack ever.

We needed one again today after an unfortunate incident with Dusty the airplane.

I just have to say, just being with these guys all day is my favorite.

This little snack combination might be a new favorite also.

It’s a little messy to look at, but it’s Love Grown Foods Power O’s, Super Oats, a little powdered peanut butter, fresh blueberries and a crumbled white chocolate raspberry Quest Bar with some unsweetened Silk almondmilk.

Good stuff.

In other news while we’re focusing on the good stuff. We have some baby birds at our house out front.

We also have some family that just came in town so we’re getting some quality family time in with a little fiesta.

I’m bringing the Hatch Chilies. I did a better job roasting them this time.

I think everyone will be impressed.

We’re off.

Jumping lunges are always tough but on the BOSU – yikes!!!
And, for some reason, I’ve never done power jacks on the BOSU – can’t wait to remedy that!!! (I didn’t play along because I’ve already enjoyed my evening wine and the idea of jumping tonight wasn’t working:)
