Working Triceps, Elephant Garlic, Cheesy Rolls, and Grateful Hearts

 

I’m not running today.

I did go to the grocery store at 6:00 am though on a Saturday because I couldn’t sleep.

Yes, a grocery store trip before 7:00 am on a Saturday MUST include a stop at the Starbucks inside the store. That’s a given.

I taught boot camp this morning too.

My favorite move from this morning was this one. One leg tricep dips on the AbX.

This can also be done on a bench. I love working triceps. I make sure to work them every time I do strength training or resistance training. Most of the time you don’t even need equipment.

Just as a head’s up, there’s going to be a lot more cross training chat the rest of the month with HumanX. I’m pretty excited about it.

In case you’re not familiar with Frieda’s Elephant Garlic, I thought you should see just how big it is.

I tried to compare it to Pat the Parrot, but you can’t really tell.

Have you ever seen garlic that size? I’ve been using it in just about everything and I’m pretty sure I smell like it at the moment.

 

At least once a week it’s pizza night over here with homemade pizzas. They usually look a little like this.

The other night I wanted to make more than just pizzas. I wanted to make some cheesy rolls.

I thought I could create some simply with string cheese, garlic powder and Trader Joe’s refrigerated pizza dough.

I was right.

Yep.

Here’s what you need:

Trader Joe’s pizza dough (the whole wheat one is my favorite)

string cheese

garlic powder (and/or garlic salt)

optional- Italian seasoning, parmesan cheese

 

Divide the dough into small balls. form into circles on a flat surface coated with a little flour. Put 1/2 a string cheese piece and other seasonings in dough. Roll up and form ends together. Bake at 450 for 10 minutes.

We will definitely be making these again. They were a hit. They would be great dipped in a little marinara. Mmmmm….

 

Now, let me just tell you a little something really quickly.

The boys have been extra affectionate lately. Last night they made sure I had a few animals to sleep with so I wasn’t lonely without Kitty.

Nala has been extra affectionate too and has crawled into bed with me every night.

I loved the reading last night. Seek gratitude in all situations and with a thankful mind-set life’s storms cannot shake you. We’ve got some storms we’re getting through, but I promise as I learn these lessons I’ll pass them along.

    Aww, sweet boys. I love how kids just know, and do what they can to make us feel better. So precious…
    Triceps are tough for me right now because this tennis elbow is still being a jerk; traditional dips have always been weird, they make my elbows click, but I like the ones you did!

    Hmm, thankful…right this minute, thankful I’m at my hair dresser to get my ‘do did! :)

    Your boot camp classes look amazing! And that garlic? You need a boot camp class to lift one of those. Haha! I need to do more cross training for sure! Thanks for the shout out.

    That garlic looks awesome – then I wouldn’t have to peel so many cloves! We put garlic in pretty much every meal at our house. It’s SO good!

    I am thankful for my super supportive boyfriend – he’s making it possible for me to leave a job I have been miserable at!

    We did a boatload of tricep dips in my bootcamp the other day – dips, crab walks!! Unrelated…I don’t know what it is, but I love the smell of garlic and onion sautéing together!!! Mmmmm…
