We kicked off the weekend a little early yesterday with a fun Vega hydrator mocktail and an afternoon swim session.
Somehow I convinced the men that it was a good idea to go to the expo together so I didn’t have to go today when it was crowded.
Showing up to a race expo on a Friday night about 15 minutes before it closes is pretty smart. It wasn’t crowded at all.
Funny though I still managed to get side tracked.
I found some cool new shades by Oculus who makes the other sunglasses I race in.
They had a pretty nice selection.
They also had some really cute shoe charms.
The boys were quick to spot the HALO booth
and all the cool mannequin heads.
We helped close down the expo there.
Thanks America’s Finest City Half Marathon for the cool bag.
Thank you Judah for helping Mommy carry it.
Thank you San Diego for being so beautiful.
And thank you NuttZo for the to go packets.
We got them for the shake out run this morning, but they came in very handy last night in the car as a snack.
Yep. They’re good just from the packet.
Here’s a random cool cloud to show you from the way home.
Oh and here’s our new pet that Joaquin caught. His name is “Sizzy” or “Thizzy”. I’m not sure, but whatever it is I don’t pronounce it correctly when I say it.
Taught boot camp this morning. Went from boot camp to Target in my cool new socks.
Yes, that’s still an old race tag on my shoe. I don’t know why I leave them on there.
Had a quick chia shot in the car
and then met up with all these cool kids for our little Pro Compression shake out run.
It was a bit toasty out there, but that didn’t seem to stop anyone.
Heck yes that’s Sarah. She’s the Pro queen.
Even Amy convinced her hubby to come out and run a short 5K with us and Tracy came out with her 6 week old.
After the run we got to chat a bit. It’s always so darn fun meeting people in real life after you’ve known each other for such a long time through the blog world.
Pro Compression hooked us up with some fun prizes to give away at the end.
I present to you the winners.
Even the Silent Assassin came out.
He brought me some special chilies to plant.
I’m so excited!
A lot of people brought old shoes to donate. A local friend’s 11 year old daughter is running her own community service event and collecting shoes for the homeless around the world. Isn’t that so cool?
These good people. Always ready to help others out.
It was a great morning.
I’ll be seeing this girl in Kauai in just two short weeks.
My friend Leslie is a trail running rockstar and she was the one who warned me about the race last weekend. We met for the first time today and she promised she’d teach me a trick or two about the trails.
These two cute local mamas, Kendyl and Alicia are some cool Instagram friends.
And, THIS is why I’m on lunch picture taking probation.
Yeah, it took me forever to put this awesome salad beast together and when I thought I’s take a picture of my masterpiece this happened.
Have a great rest of your weekend!
