We had the BEST day yesterday.
Oh heck yes. We had to do up the whole LEGOLAND thing before summer was officially over.
We love that place and have been there a few times before. The boys were begging to spend the night at The LEGOLAND Hotel (like the last time), but luckily they spotted these LEGO ladies right off the bat so obviously they got distracted.
I actually think I may still be recovering a bit from our big excursion yesterday, so I’ll share all our fun, but try to not go on and on with the writing. Sounds like a plan, yes?
We were smart in waiting until some of the schools were already back in session to go to the park. It wasn’t very crowded and the weather was perfect.
Since it was Grandma’s first time there besides the time she ran the Kid’s Marathon Mile with us we thought we’d show her all our favorite things first.
We had to take a picture of the LEGO vulture for Daddy since he was missing out on all the fun.
Joaquin has no fear. He spotted a super fast roller coaster and insisted we go on it. I was the only sucker.
I used to love roller coasters, now they scare me. I put on a tough face for my buddy though.
There was this whole LEGO Movie set up there also.
We got to hang with the one and only Emmet.
There was this whole behind the scenes movie experience that was awesome.
We hit up quite a few rides actually. The one we really wanted to go on had an hour wait, so we opted for this one where you pull the rope to go up. It was quite the upper body workout if I do say so.
The boys drove cars
and got to ride horses for the first time.
The main feature was the new LEGO® Legends of CHIMA™ Water Park that just opened earlier this summer.
I know, right? Not only do they have an amusement park, but they have two whole water park sections at the resort also. We knew they were there, but were always so busy with everything else the park had to offer. Man were we missing out.
The new LEGO® Legends of CHIMA™ Water Park features a Lion Temple Wave Pool, crocodile swamp, three different water slides, interactive Build-a-Boat and more.
We made sure to check them all out.
I’m not a huge fan of cold water, or getting wet actually, but this place was so awesome and the boys were having so much fun, it didn’t even matter. Sure I got splashed a little more than I would have liked, but I’m not complaining because the boys had the time of their lives. They even did the water slides all by themselves. They’re braver than me.
The wave pool was fun with mellow waves and life vests. Something I could handle. Ha.
They even got to build some pretty cool boats.
We were only at the park for a little over 4.5 hours, but man, we did a lot and had so much fun. We really are so lucky that awesome places like this are so close by.
Grandma said she’d treat us to dinner on the way home since we treated her to a day filled with STUFT fun. We stopped at Chick-fil-A.
I did not remember that they had this awesome hot sauce the last time. I made sure to grab a couple extra packets and order my usual high maintenance way.
The cobb salad was darn tasty, but just not big enough. I whipped up my own version of a Arctic Zero blizzard once I got home.
And although I should have maybe dusted my bedside clock off, I didn’t. I went to bed instead and even slept in this morning instead of doing my early morning run.
Okay, just wanted to share our day yesterday. I’m still a little tired today. It’s funny how days like that can be more exhausting than hard workouts sometimes.
*Thank you LEGOLAND for the tickets and for the opportunity to explore all the amazingness of the resort. We’re already planning our next trip. They boys are begging for another stay in the pirate room. Ha ha.
Have you been to LEGOLAND? Did you go to the water park?
What do you like better, amusement parks or water parks?
