Snacks, Reads and a Dance

We’re getting there friends. Hopefully by the time you read this we’ll be in route to Kauai.

Oh hey, just practicing my vacation pose.

Ha ha.

There have been countless brown rice cakes consumed over the past few days.

They’ve all looked a little like this topped with SunButter and buckwheat honey.

I’m really loving that combo lately. I’m also really loving the looks of this recipe for SunButter Sea Salt Caramel Bars. I must make them when I get back.

We had preschool orientation today, my car was in the shop and well, you know about a million other things that we tried to squeeze in a day before a huge trip and two days before a marathon.

So, my packing has been limited. I packed a few snacks, but decided since there will be stores over there I;m going to worry too much about packing too much food.

I did however get this magnificent package in the mail yesterday from Vega with so many amazing goodies.

It was seriously like Christmas in August.

I already love the recovery accelerator, the Vega Sport protein and those dark chocolate Savi Seed packs.

But…….. now I have some of Karmalized ones to try out.

I’m hoping they travel well.

I’m also super excited about these energy bars. I had no idea Vega made them.

I packed a few of the apple cherry ones, but don’t want to risk the chocolate in the heat. I’ll keep those safe and sound at home for my return.

Just in case you care, my random Vega protein smoothie of the day was this one.

Vega Sport vanilla protein powder, Silk unsweetened almond milk, organic spinach, frozen blueberries and instant coffee.

My other go to travel snacks are apples, chia shots and individual NuttZo packets. I just got my ambassador shipment the other week, so I’m all set with my power fuel and my cool new tank.

I also just bought these little Yummari Chia Charger things I found on Amazon after my friend gave me a couple to try. Oh my word. They are so darn good and the perfect little snack size.

So. Darn. Good.

Oh and Joaquin made some special soup, but I’m not too sure how well it will travel so I think I’ll leave it behind.

I will NOT be leaving behind my new Runner’s World magazine or my Flat Bart though.

I’m actually also bringing two books to read. I can’t remember the last time I actually finished a book, but I’m really going to give it a try.

I also know I have at least two outfits to wear while on the trip thanks to Skirt Sports.

These came just in time today and I put them just like that into my bag. Love it!

And for those of you who don’t like talking snacks, I have a little something special for you.

It’s the Hawk Dance.

Oh, excuse me, if you watched the entire minute and a half, you realize I made a mistake. It is the Freestyle Hawk Dance.

See you in Kauai. Not much posting planned while I’m there, but maybe a few updates.

I will be on instagram though! It’s just so easy to post pictures on there, isn’t it?

Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

When you’re going on a trip what do you pack first? What do you leave for last? I always leave toiletries for last.

What are your plans for the weekend?
