Bringing the Bling and the Ropes and an Upcoming Fitwall Workout

The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Fitwall.

Holy smokes it is HOT here. Triple digits again today. It’s only supposed to be 93 tomorrow though so I guess that’s a little better.

They revealed the medals for Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon. If you run the 5K on Saturday night and then the 1/2 or full marathon Sunday night you get an additional remix challenge medal. Oh my goodness all the bling.

Those ones on the right glow in the dark too by the way. Pretty awesome.

The heat got to my head today and I decided to bring in my own fun toys to my full body blast class.

We set up a pretty awesome circuit with BOSU burpees, plank stability ball tucks, resistance band basketball jumps, giant jump rope jumps and jumping lunges.

It’s been almost a year since I did a review and blog post about the Giant Jump Rope so it was time it came back out to play.

I forgot how awesome it is.

It’s weird how nothing sounds good to eat when it’s so darn hot out. I have no ambition to cook dinner so we’re having fish taco leftovers from our party Sunday for the third night in row. Lovely. Thank goodness my guys aren’t picky.

I haven’t even roasted any kabocha squash or purple sweet potatoes yet. I don’t even want to turn on the oven.

So I just signed up to try a new kind of fitness class at Fitwall.

Have you heard about it at all?

There aren’t too many Fitwall locations around yet, but two of them are relatively close to me in Solana Beach and La Jolla.

From what I’ve looked up online, Fitwall seems like a really innovative, tough workout.

The classes are 40 minutes long and from the looks of this video are pretty intense. I’m a huge fan of shorter, intense workouts when it comes to cross training so I’m super excited to give this a try.

Their philospohy is to train smarter and they utilize the newest technology and playlists. I’m really curious actually how they use playlists with this type of workout.

 The approach they use works the body as a whole rather than one muscle group at a time which burns more calories in less time while still building strength, cardio and flexibility. That pretty much sums up how I teach the majority of my classes.

SO I’m going to take a class or two in the next week or so at the Solana Beach location. They have a few different classes to choose from and I’m not sure which one I want to try first.

What do you think? “Gone With the Waist” or “The Glutebook”? (How awesome are the class names by the way?)

I’ll have a full report on at least one of the classes within the next week or so. I’m excited.

If you’re local you can sign up for a FREE TRIAL to take a class here:

Actually, if you’re local and you want to join me for a class leave me a comment here and we can take one together. New classes are always fun when you do them with someone else, right? Someone please come with me.

Random, but we’ve been watching this Good Night Gorilla video on my iPad every night. We discovered it in Kauai when we forgot to bring bedtime books and fell in love with it.

Have a great night.

If things are quiet here tomorrow it’s because we’re practicing our sight words and working on arts and crafts at home (thank you cards). Time to step up the pre-K work these days on the home front.

Oh and for my sister-in-law who visits the blog to see pictures of the boys “helping” Daddy with chores tonight. Here you go.

Seriously, if anyone local wants to come take a Fitwall class with me within the next week, let me know. We can go to coffee afterwards. It will be so much fun!

Those medals look awesome! Wish I was able to run that one this year but I’m doing New York on the 2nd and can’t manage 2 trips.

I love fun medals! Although I keep mine in a box in my closet, so they don’t generally see the light of day anyway. The names of those classes are hilarious, wish I lived close enough to attend!

    Have a great Wednesday! 🙂

You’re gonna have to tell me how you like it. I tried something similar and just couldn’t get into it. I was having a hard time focusing on different muscle groups when ‘hanging’ off the wall. You’re basically hanging off of a ladder like structure with your hands on one rung and your feet on another. You can position your hands and feet close or farther apart to make it harder. But I found myself getting bored. We did toe taps, worked with bands, and did other core/strength exercises off the “wall”, but I wasn’t digging it. Hopefully you find it works for you!

Oooooh! I’ve been wanting to try Fitwall, but slightly intimidated as I’m typically just a cardio junkie (says the Zumba instructor, haha)! Which class did you end up signing up for? 🙂

Let’s go! I haven’t signed up yet! When do you want to go? Next Monday or Tuesday??? 🙂

      • Is there an AM class? I work from 2:20 – 5:30ish… and teach Zumba on Tuesday night at 7… I can’t remember, but I think you have a Monday class at the Y, so does maybe Monday/Tues am work or later in the evening on Monday? I’m a morning person (shockingly), so even if it’s early, I’m down! 🙂

Hahaha! I got to the part where you were talking about “Goodnight Gorilla” and I thought to myself “Gee, hope she doesn’t think this will substitute for a picture of the boys!!!” and then there it was! And what a great picture! Precious!
