What a Way to Welcome October- We’re In

Holy smokes.

Let me just say I’m not a fan of headaches and I rarely get them, but man I’ve been fighting one all day and it’s definitely not my favorite thing.

a lot of other great things happened so let’s just chat really quickly about those, shall we?

My runs the past few days have been easy and short. Nothing exciting. Treadmill miles while watching New Girl. I’m digging this cut back week. This was today’s early morning run.

I’ve gotten lazy about matching lately. At least I got both my socks on the right way though.

Sweated my way through teaching a spin class this morning also.

Okay, so, this morning the registration for the Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge opened at 10 am PST. I’ve been nervous about it for days because I really want to do it again and it sells out extremely fast with only 370 spots open.

I had a whole master plan of how we were going to make this happen logistically with our crazy morning. I also had an awful night’s sleep fretting about if it would all work out or not. Don’t you love that?

My spin class ended at 9:30 am. After hurrying to get the boys from Playcare and have everyone use the facilities and such we hightailed it to the closest place that I had scoped out with free Wi-Fi and a place where the boys could play.

Oh and yes, the cape was out today.

Chick-Fil-A was our magical place. As luck would have it, they have free coffee (no purchase necessary because I asked) until October 4th. You’re welcome.

We got breakfast, free Wi-Fi

2014-10-01 09.55.03

and there was a play place to keep the boys entertained while I was an anxious mess on the computer. Score.

I always stress out big time about stuff like this. Of course I thought I was golden and once I got more than half way through the registration process I refreshed the screen and lost it all. I couldn’t get back on for like 20 minutes. I thought I missed my opportunity, but it finally opened up again.

This email was the best email I’ve read in awhile.

Yes, yes, and yes!

I’m so excited!

B2B Challenge Round Two here I come. It was a huge highlight of this year and I can’t wait to see what 2015 brings.

Here are some other things that are making me really excited at the moment and just excited about the month of October in general. October is usually not my favorite month, but I think things might be a bit different this year. Let’s hope so since we’ve had quite a rough summer.

This chocolate protein drink saved the day yesterday.

2014-09-30 10.21.55

In the mix- 3/4 cup egg whites, 1 cup Silk unsweetened vanilla almondmilk, 1/2 scoop Vega Sport vanilla protein powder, 2 tablespoons dark cocoa powder, handful of spinach, splash of almond extract, cinnamon and 1/2 cup crushed ice.

Last night I randomly decided to go to the store once the boys were in bed for a couple things. Sometimes it’s just so much easier to go at night by yourself, right?

Conveniently this was right by the grocery store and since the boys got to go there with Grandma earlier in the day I decided I should go there too to pick up a little something for Andrew and I.

2014-09-30 20.49.28

Conveniently this happened upon coming home.

2014-09-30 21.09.04

Not so convenient was the headache and stomachache I woke up with this morning. That late night stop won’t be happening again for awhile. Live and learn. Ha.

I finally got out my fall scented candle. I love it and Yankee Candles are the best (in my opinion).

2014-09-30 10.30.28

Too bad it’s supposed to be back up in the high nineties for the next four days. That is NOT fall weather.

After our marathon morning running a bazillion errands after the whole registration thing, I took hangry to a whole new level.

This salad though.

2014-10-01 13.57.09

Yes, this one, helped the situation tremendously.

2014-10-01 13.57.29

I listed everything out on Instagram, but just in case you’re not on there here’s what went in the bowl.

Trader Joe’s butter lettuce bag, Trader Joe’s Smoke Seasoning, balsamic vinegar, coconut oil, roasted ghost chilis (from a grinder), organic turkey, fresh basil, Scotty B’s bacon jalapeño hot sauce, garlic roasted kabocha and a baked purple sweet potato with coconut oil and garlic salt.

It was the perfect meal to enjoy the afternoon STUFT show.

Yes, that butler has moved inside. Don’t ask.

But DO see if you notice anything about Joaquin’s shorts.

2014-10-01 14.01.41

I don’t know, maybe wearing them backwards is a new thing.

Want that vanilla pumpkin candle! I can relate to being a maniac when trying to sign up for a race! Losing everything on the computer would nearly kill me I’m sure. Glad you got it that must have been a big relief!

Congratulations! Your race sign up reminds me of trying to sign up for classes in college. Inevitably that’s when the computer would crash. Glad you made it in, I can only imagine running both of those races. I am so not there yet – maybe someday!

I’m running Big Sur, and was literally sweating while trying to get in during third registration period. I messed up on both the first and second registrations. Oops! I’m so excited for it! Congratulations! B2B would be awesome to do someday.

FYI….I have had a headache (different from others) for the past 2 days….and off and on ….I also have had a weird stomach…swirling ~ the kind I usually get after riding a roller coaster or any ride for that matter…kind feel like puking but not really.

    Just off.

I have been tired more too….maybe its a weird virus thing??? Who knows but I hope it goes away soon….good luck with yours.
