Brick or Treat Party Nights at LEGOLAND

I just got back from a rather long run in the middle of the day. Not really my favorite to do the long run things midday, but oh well. I’ll save running talk for tomorrow though since I have other running stuff to chat about. All my runs have been sporadic this week and I’m definitely not following any sort of training plan this week. Not really by choice, but by life and health happenings. Oh well, we do what we can when we can. I also have a fun giveaway coming up. Woo hoo!

Smile

We had a fun little family adventure last night so be prepared for a bunch of pictures in this post. I just can’t help myself.

We’re starting to mark some things off our Fall Bucket List. Which reminds me, I should show you what we put on our list. Did anyone else do one?

Most family adventures start a little something like this, especially when I stayed up way too late the night before and we know it’s going to be a long night.

2014-10-17 15.41.58

I went for the normal Americano. I keep wanting to try a pumpkin spice latte and see if it’s as good as everyone says. Is it?

A short drive later we found ourselves at one of our most favorite places.

2014-10-17 16.32.03

Heck yes, LEGOLAND California is our favorite.

We got special tickets to attend the Brick-or-Treat Party Nights event and had been counting down the days until we got to go.

2014-10-17 16.42.01

When we checked in to get our wristband we opted to pick up the included goodie bags and LEGO set instead of stopping at all the Treat Stations later just in case anything happened. We figured it was better to be safe that sorry. Ha ha.

2014-10-17 16.48.452014-10-17 16.48.39

We thought our plan to pick everything up at the beginning was a great one until we realized we were going to have to carry everything around the remainder of the night. We didn’t really think that one through.

We headed straight for one ride we knew Daddy would love because it had all the LEGO safari animals.

2014-10-17 16.59.26

Obviously he was super excited. Ha ha.

2014-10-17 17.16.44 HDR2014-10-17 17.18.09

One jeep, two steering wheels and lots of smiles.

Joaquin is all about riding the big boy roller coasters, the rest of us, well, not so much. We like to stick together as a family though so we all went for it.

2014-10-17 17.46.05

It was right about here when STUFT Daddy said “I hope you drop that thing” in reference to my camera.

2014-10-17 17.47.37 HDR

I didn’t drop it, but I did look really classy with my Halo visor line still on my head from the run I had done about 8 hours earlier. I may be wearing my visor a little too tight, you think?

Joaquin was quick to remind me that his favorite LEGO ladies were by the front of the park so we had to say “hello” to them right after the boys got all snazzy with their costumes on.

2014-10-17 18.08.15

Heck yes we brought costumes, but we brought the ones from last year. Our costumes for this year are super secret and we’re saving them for Halloween.

As responsible parents we had to jump in to make sure we approved of these lady friends.

2014-10-17 18.08.35

Then we had to hit up the giant pumpkin.

2014-10-17 18.13.222014-10-17 18.13.57

They had these cool stations set up all around the park for the event so kids could “trick-or-treat” and get goodies to fill up their bags.

2014-10-17 18.14.57

We bypassed the stations since we got our goodies earlier, but we got suckered into the games.

2014-10-17 18.16.462014-10-17 18.19.19

Unfortunately no one came out a winner. Shocking isn’t it?

After a few more rides

2014-10-17 18.28.34

and some pictures with fun characters who were out and about,

2014-10-17 18.41.352014-10-17 19.29.502014-10-17 18.43.59

it was time to attempt to ride Project X.

2014-10-17 19.02.46

Yeah, given my love of roller coasters, I started getting pretty darn nervous when we were standing in line. Oh and yes, it was Joaquin’s idea to ride this one and yes, it’s never a good sign when they have to double check the height once you get to the front of the line.

2014-10-17 18.55.352014-10-17 18.57.51

I managed to not lose my camera on this ride either, but I did lose my voice for a bit from screaming way too loud on the first drop. I also realized that roller coasters are probably not the best idea for someone who has hip dysplasia. Oopsies.

2014-10-17 19.00.51

On really cool thing that I never noticed before was that on a lot of the rides there is a place for the kids to play LEGOS while the parents wait in line. That’s just brilliant.

2014-10-17 19.10.53

After awhile we all got a bit hangry (as I’m sure everyone does at some point during amusement park visits) and hit up the closest food we could find.

2014-10-17 19.37.08

Dinner of champions.

2014-10-17 19.47.22

Our last adventure was the Ghost Cruise Scavenger Hunt.

2014-10-17 20.16.152014-10-17 20.16.082014-10-17 20.32.46

We got super excited when we saw the New York skyline. In two short weeks I’ll be there for the marathon. That is just nuts.

2014-10-17 20.41.15

Oh and just so you know, the cruise guide helps everyone find the ghosts and figure out that scavenger hunt phrase so no need to try to be competitive and win (not that I was trying or anything).

2014-10-17 20.35.00

We ended our fabulous LEGOLAND California Brick-or-Treat adventure

2014-10-17 18.42.262014-10-17 19.17.20

with one last picture stop

2014-10-17 20.48.35

and fireworks.

2014-10-17 21.02.072014-10-17 21.02.30

It was a darn good firework show and it went with the music and everything. It’s always so cool when they do that.

2014-10-17 21.05.37

BEST NIGHT EVER.

Thank you LEGOLAND for an amazing experience. We had a blast and scored some pretty sweet LEGOS and Brick-or-Treat goodies.

2014-10-18 16.20.43

Next time we’ll be sure to hit up the dance contests and costume contests. There was just too much fun stuff to fit it all in in one night.

Smile

We’re already excited to come back next year and have started our countdown until the Holiday Snow Days and Winter Nights.

Yay! Thanks for dealing with all the pictures friends. I always tell myself I’m not going to take as many or post as many, but I just can’t help myself.

Hope you’re having a fabulous weekend!

Those Halo hats do the same thing to me, the line stays on my forehead for hours and I don’t wear it tight at all. The hat is cute and I wish I could cut the forehead band off or something.
