First of all, I really just have to take a minute to thank you for all the good luck comments and the congratulations about the TCS New York City Marathon. I just don’t take the time to tell you enough how much your encouragement means to me and how incredible it is to have you come on all these crazy journeys (the good ones and the bad ones) with me. I’m so blessed and YOU inspire me daily.
Someone asked me recently how I got into blogging and I don’t even really know. I just started randomly writing as a lost new mom of twin boys trying to find my way.
I’m still finding it, but man this life, this journey, the friends I’ve made……
It is incredible and I never could’ve dreamed it would turn into this.
We said our goodbyes to the city last night and are safely back at home. My traveling companion is still complaining about shin splints from all the walking we did. I feel really great physically actually, but am beyond sleep deprived. Not by choice, but I just haven’t had a good night’s sleep because of travel and all this life business stuff I have going on in my head. Beavis.
I don’t have it in me to write a full recap on the marathon just yet, but I do have some fun pictures from our adventures.
The first day after our red eye was so cold and rainy.
Oh and yes, this amazing guy was with my for the entire journey. I can’t thank him enough for putting up with me and all my craziness. Sharing this adventure with him was truly amazing.
That made the whole walk to the expo thing very long. Luckily the expo was a blast for everyone. Ha ha.
My big purchase from a street vender was a pretzel and then an US Weekly right before we left. Andrew went for a hot dog.
I’m not sure how impressed he was or not.
Our first night in Time Square we learned that those heroes that try to photo bomb you actually are looking for tips.
I had no clue. I thought they just wanted to jump in our picture. They were not happy when I wanted to leave without giving them any money. Oops. Next time I’ll know.
Obviously the main reason we took the picture anyway was to send it to the boys.
We tried to fit in as much sight seeing as possible yesterday before we left since Andrew had never been to New York City before.
Oh and New York in the fall was just amazing.
Yesterday’s weather was perfect. Thank goodness too because my whole body was still tense from being cold for so long on race day.
I’ll write about all our eats around the city in a different post, but we sure consumed our fair share of Starbucks.
Heck yes, I was super classy and went from my other shoes to comfortable slipper like shoes. Lovely.
I just had to buy a magazine off the street. For some reason I was really excited about this. Ha ha.
We’re doing the family thing the rest of today. We missed the boys so darn much so are getting as much quality time as we can with them today.
Time is love. Funny how the minute you’re away from your kids you already miss them. Gosh it’s so hard to be away from them.
Marathon recap will be on the way shortly. I just need a little time to recover, rest and hug the boys a bazillion and one times.
Hope your week is off to a great start!
