Hope your week is going well. How in the heck did it get to be the middle of November by the way? We were just chatting in my class yesterday and someone said the number of days until Christmas. I’m just not ready for that. Ha.
Speaking of class yesterday. I haven’t shown you any fun moves for awhile so here’s a fun push up variation we did. YOU can do the same thing on the floor or with either your feet or knees on the BOSU ball.
Slow push up down and then after you press up extend one arm in front alternating sides.
It’s pretty tough and if you do it on a BOSU it really adds that extra core stability. I posted a short video here on Instagram. I’m too lazy to upload it to YouTube at the moment. You can just click on the picture below to check it out.
So let’s talk holidays and colder weather and cuddling up with warm mugs of goodness.
There is nothing better than being inside with a mug of some fun warm drink when it finally gets a bit chilly outside. Yesterday here in Southern California it was finally pretty chilly all day. It was fabulous.
All my fun drink creations are always created with Silk. Our refrigerator is stocked at all times. It currently looks a little like this.
I love the unsweetened flavors because I can sweetened them up on my own, but randomly bought the AlmondMilk light the other day and really like it. It has natural sugar already in it and doesn’t need any additional sweetener, but has 25% less sugar that the original version.
I feel like every time I go to the store they have more Silk options available. I mean really, there is something for everyone.
I heard a rumor that the Silk Seasonal Holiday Nog is already out. I’m going to have to hunt this down.
So I’ve been doing some drink creating here at home. What’s new, right?
I’m a huge fan of frothed milk. For some reason I feel like all drinks taste better when frothed. I love that the Silk milks still froth and froth pretty darn well.
The other day I made a healthy dark chocolate mocha with Silk AlmondMilk.
Here’s what went in it:
shot of espresso (can be eliminated if you just want hot chocolate)
1 1/2 cups Silk AlmondMilk (unsweetened vanilla version)
2 tablespoons dark cocoa powder
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup (or 1 packet Stevia in the Raw)
splash of almond extract
sprinkle of cinnamon
Oh man did it make the afternoon just delightful. Ha.
I’ve been experimenting a bit with my morning coffee too. I was recently reading about Bulletproof coffee. Have you heard of it?
Well, I decided I had to create my own version. I’ve been drinking it here and there lately when I need a little something more that just black coffee in the morning.
STUFT Silkproof Coffee
2 cups strong freshly brewed coffee
1-3 teaspoons butter or ghee
1-3 teaspoons coconut butter or coconut oil
1-3 teaspoons pure maple syrup (optional)
sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)
1/4 to 1/2 cup Silk nondairy milk of choice (I use unsweetened AlmondMilk)
I was a little hesitant to do the whole hot coffee in the blender thing, but wanted to see it everything would froth together a bit if I did. I put everything except the milk in first.
Then added the milk and blended a bit.
I love that it’s a bit sweet and creamy. In fact, I think I might need one shortly to get my through this darn hump day.

Also, random, but one of my favorite Silk recipes I created awhile a go is this one for Cinnamon Apple Hooligan Pancakes. I’ve been craving them like crazy lately.
Have a great rest of your day!
Have you ever done the bulletproof coffee thing or a variation of it?
What’s your favorite seasonal drink? (Mine is a toss up between a pumpkin mocha or a peppermint mocha.)
