Why I’m Hopeful and What I’ve Been Eating Wednesday

Fingers crossed……


Prolotherapy helped me before so I’m sure hoping it helps again. I’m not ready to face the surgery route just yet. Not without a fight. He goes into a little more detail about specifically treating hip pain on the website here in case you’re interested.

No, this is not my doctor, but I found this last night and it was just what I needed.


I’ve been eating all kinds of deliciousness over here that hasn’t been on the menu for quite some time.

I figured if I’m going to do everything I can to see how quickly my body can heal, I better tackle things big time with nutrition.

Before when I did the STUFT Detox I wasn’t working and I had time to plan everything out and research and read and try to figure out what my needs were. Well, times are different these days and I don’t have the time or energy to calculate everything and meal plan, etc. Not to mention that whole thing was a bit rigid for me and I don’t want to be too restrictive like that again.

So, I’ve turned to Coach Elizabeth of inpyn who’s a professional with athletic nutrition and coaching.

I can’t even tell you how great it is to have someone figure out all the messy stuff for me, give me meal plans and shopping lists and then all I have to do is go stock up at Trader Joe’s and make delicious, healthy food for myself and the family and concentrate on healing up. It’s just what I need right now.

Things have been going so well. I’ve been eating all sorts of fabulous stuff and I’m not even a week into the plan and I feel so much better.

Besides the gluten free baked protein pancake from yesterday, my breakfasts have been pretty awesome.



Beets, kale, eggs and egg whites, fun spices, avocado, coconut oil, etc.

Lunches haven’t been too shabby either.

Huge salads with lentils, avocado, hummus, roasted kabocha squash, and goodness knows what else I put in there.

We’re focusing on good fats, clean eats and nutritionally dense foods.

Even my salads at my desk are stepping it up a notch. Check out those heart healthy nuts added on there. Oh heck yes.

I’m staying away from gluten and dairy and Coach Elizabeth puts together all the meals with the right nutrition together for me. I just need to stick to the plan and do what she says. Easy, peasy, yes?


I’m drinking a lot of drinks with sparkling water, apple cider vinegar and fresh ginger too.

These aren’t specifically on the plan, but I always need a little something sparkly in the afternoon.


The boys have been eating better too. I love how good nutrition rubs off on the whole family and I have to say that Elizabeth included this in my plan and added family friendly meals where the boys can even get involved in the cooking and prepping.


I found these Sneakz drinks that the boys love recently. I can’t remember where, but I need to find some more of them.

And Joaquin told me he wants to eat an apple every single day, but only like this.

Whatever works. And yes, I know I need to work on my apple peeling skills.

    That video was great….I would totally wait on surgery too…especially bc he seems so confident with the prolotherapy and since you had success with it before. Good Luck!

    Looks like you’re eating well! Glad to see you adding beans, so good for you. I’m not big on eggs and meat, I wonder if Elizabeth does vegan plans? I love golden beets on my salads, have you tried them? I prefer them to red and will plant a lot of them soon in my garden.

    Lol. How many times I watched Ross Hauser when I was researching Prolotherapy..too many to count. I’m seeing the man Dr. Kulik tomorrow- the best guy ever, eh?! So that’s encouraging news for you! Good luck. Here’s to lots of rest in the meantime!

    Yay for hope!! And supporting yourself with good nutrition will go a long ways for healing too. I know you haven’t had great luck with bone broth, but check out Pete’s Paleo–local company that you can get local bone broth from and you might be able to pick it up from somewhere close to you. I’ve been adding grass-fed collagen to bone broth or tea to support my bones & joints 🙂 My mom had a hip replacement by 60. I’m good a feeding myself well but the kids–that’s a challenge!

    Thanks for posting the video. I am now interested in finding someone where I live that does prolotherapy.
    How did you find the MD that does prlotherapy?
