Strong and Kind, Return of the Pants, Shamrock Shoulder Moves and Inspirational Tanks

Why hello!

Um, did you know that Dancing With the Stars premieres tonight? I’m watching it while writing this and although I haven’t watched the past couple of seasons I’m pretty excited about this one.

The boys wanted to show you just just how strong they are.

Speaking of strong, I had the awesome roasted jalapeño Strong and KIND bar in the car before teaching classes tonight at the gym that was recommended by Coach Elizabeth and was my snack in the nutrition plan for today.

I’ve had one before, but I forgot how freaking awesome they are. It was so good.

You know, that good that I had to go to Vitacost and order two boxes of 12. And, just passing along that if you order over $25 of KIND bars from Vitacost right now and enter promo code KIND25FB at
checkout you get a free box of Dark Chocolate Chunk KIND granola bars.

I saw this on Instagram today too from Fit Athletic (where I teach spin).

I like that. I’m not good at it, I usually wait until I have to, but it’s a good message.

Tonight was brilliant. Just brilliant.

The classes I teach on Mondays are close to the beach and with the time change the sun was just setting as I was leaving. I could NOT pass up the opportunity to take some time at the end of a crazy hectic day.

The boys were with Daddy at a friend’s party so I didn’t feel the need to rush home. It was the perfect way to end the night.

Mizuno is doing this new campaign with the hashtag #MilesChangeYou and heck yes they do. Slow ones, fast ones, easy ones, hard one, you name it, they change you for the better.

I just wrote an article for the Mizuno blog about cross training for runners.

Everyday Cross Training For Runners

Moving on to some cross training chat, since I wore the old “weenis pants” today to work and to teach classes in,

it’s only appropriate that we flash back to the video where they made their debut three years ago. It’s appropriate because it’s a Saint Patrick’s Day post and who doesn’t want some entertainment and fun moves to strengthen your shoulders.

You can read the original blog post or just watch the video here. No pressure. And please, no comments about the pants.

We need to start making more videos again. It’s been way too long.

My dinner tonight was very green to get ready for tomorrow.

I know exactly what shirt I’m going to wear too. I ordered a few inspirational tank tops from Run With Perseverance.

I’m going to wear the “live green” one obviously, but these two are my favorite of the Handful that I ordered.

Aren’t they awesome?

I have a feeling I’ll be ordering more from her Etsy store.

Tess suggested “Time is Love” as a custom order. I might just have to do that.

Now it’s time though for some shut eye. Coach Elizabeth reminded me that all the body’s repair work and growth goes on at night and it’s important to do everything we can to support it.

That’s what I’m going to do.

Have a wonderful Saint Patrick’s Day!

Hey Kristen I have a spinning question for you. I am doing an indoor tri in a few weeks and it is using a spin bike. I train on my road bike on a trainer so I’m not used to spin bikes. Do you have any tips as far as how to get the most miles. Hard resistance and pedal like you would a road bike or light resistance and pedal fast and hard?? Thanks!! Sarah

I wish I did. The bikes we have don’t tell us distance so I never even pay attention. I would say a good mix of medium resistance with faster pedaling, but I really don’t know! Sorry I’m not much help! Have fun at your tri!!!!!!!!!!!
