What you didn’t see from this past weekend at the Big Sur International Marathon in as few words as possible.
My traveling companions.
I was not the only one who went to get coffee in my pajamas. I had a partner.
I finally got some travel planning right and figured out the bus schedule for us to get around town. We were all pretty pumped about the cheap bus ride from Carmel to Monterey.
I was also not alone at the expo.
This lady Pam is simply the best. It’s funny how many races we’ve run together on both sides of the country.
The man Rudy who announces all the Disney races and the Big Sur marathon is one of the nicest people ever.
The boys love him too.
I was super excited when I saw a Mizuno booth at the expo.
Heck yes I begged for that darn hat.
I wasn’t the only one begging for these awesome Food Should Taste Good chips though.
Gosh darn they are good.
Speaking of “good”, STUFT Daddy found his perfect magnet.
I mean, that’s just awesome right?
We found birds.
We also found a $20 an hour bike.
The candy store was a big stop for us and I resisted buying these.
But I stocked up on salt water taffy and couldn’t resist trying out just one of these.
It actually wasn’t too bad.
Pre race dinner was at La Bicyclette in Carmel.
They had pizza for everyone and I was really impressed with their gluten free crust.
Post race my men were extra nice and found my favorite flower for me.
Breakfast at Katy’s Place was extra delicious.
Again, they had a little something for everyone.
Unlike The Boston Marathon, the race day was beautiful so we got a few minutes at the beach afterwards.
Joaquin spotted the sock money kite. I attempted a picture and now need to find out where to buy one.
We were still smiling before we left the beach to walk up the hill.
We were not smiling about 1/4 of the way up when I was already giving a piggy back ride to a certain someone who’s legs were too tired. Go figure.
Before we headed home we made sure to make time for three really important stops.
Oh and I bought these there.
And for some dessert.
Gosh darn it that trip was quick, but amazing.
Back to some everyday life stuff tomorrow. Still just trying to settle back into the routine over here.
Where have you been lately and what was or were highlights?
Oh and what’s your favorite salt water taffy flavor? I just recently fell in love with taffy and need to know all the good flavors to try and/or where the best taffy is. Thanks so much in advance for your help.
