If I Could Have My Way

If I Could Have My Way

I know we can’t have what we want all the time and that we really just need to do the best and the most with what we have, but sometimes it’s just fun to think about how things would be IF we could have our way or have our little perfect world. Right?

Workouts this week have been minimal. Some short treadmill runs, a little strength training and resistance work, a couple of these jumping lunges on the BOSU and I taught my spin class.

I have some new songs I added some new songs to my playlist I need to get on here. I can’t remember at the moment, but I’ll put together a list for next week.

Oh and lately I’ve been watching Homeland from Netflix while on the treadmill. Not the most light-hearted like I usually go for, but definitely keeps me entertained and makes the time go by. It’s got me hooked in.

I’ve been all about the Vega One smoothies this week for recovery and as many greens as possible. Coach Elizabeth has me doing everything I can to help with recovery. No pictures though, I’ve been sucking them down while on the go.

I discovered a new KIND bar flavor the other day.

It was a prize I won at work. Pretty good prize huh?

I also was sent some of the new mint chocolate chunk Quest Bars and although it wasn’t on the nutrition plan from Inpyn, I went for one the other day.

Um, yep, delicious. I didn’t heat it up or anything. Next time I’m baking it and topping it with NuttZo.

Oh my goodness and check out this huge purple asparagus from Frieda’s.

Isn’t that the coolest ever? I can’t wait to roast these fat boys up.

Okay, so time to get serious just for a second. I’ve been doing some deep wishful thinking this week.

I know we can’t choose what we want in life, but it’s fun to think of what it would be like if we could.

In my perfect wishful world I would be a runner who can race well, do my normal day job and take care of the family. If I had to choose, I would so much rather just be able to run and race than do a lot of the other things I do. I’d be willing to give up a lot to keep doing what I love.

I’m not sure that’s in the plan for me with this darn hip of mine, but in my dream world that’s what I see.

It’s really so weird and scary not knowing what the future holds. I know what I want it to hold, but that isn’t really how things are played out a lot of the time. But then again, none of us really know what’s going to happen or when life is going to bring us changes.

I don’t know. I just had to share some thoughts of the week. If I could continue to run healthy and find a balance between training, racing, working and just being a good mama that would be magnificent.

It would also be magnificent to have a cool contraption that could fold and sort laundry right when it comes out of the dryer. Random, but after the amount of laundry that I’ve done in the past few days I’ve really been dreaming about something like that. Ha.

Two things before I go. I just got these super cute skirts from Mizuno.

Aren’t they so cute? Mizuno has really been stepping it up with cute running clothes lately. I better put these to good use.

And, Joaquin really wants to show you his trick. We had our first official Friday night family dinner party outside and this was our entertainment.

Click here to see the short video I posted on instagram.

Right?

The boys and I have a fun special date night tonight. STUFT Daddy says there’s some big boxing fight on or something he needs to go watch.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Smile

What would your perfect wishful world look like?

What’s your favorite green smoothie combo? Lately I’ve been eating mine out of big mug with a sprinkling of granola on top. Today I had spinach, fig, strawberry, peach and vega one, it actually wasn’t my best tasting smoothie ever, but maybe wasn’t really in smoothie mood today.

One of things I’ve come to accept about life….is that I can only do 3-4 things really well at a time. Family and church are always #1 and #2, so that #3 and #4 often vary. Do I want a clean house and laundry? Do I want to cook decent meals for my family? Work? Running? Cross training? I feel like if the world were to come to an end today, the family and church are what matter the most. Even if I REALLY REALLY REALLY love to run, those will always come first.

When it comes to the “running thing”, I give it my very best and just pray that I will accept the outcomes. That is really hard to do sometimes.

    You will find your balance!

My perfect world? A world where I can run whenever I want and travel to all the races on my bucket list. Work sort of gets in the way :). I hope everything is ok on your end! LOVE those running skirts! Very cute and I like the colors they come in too!

I hope you can find a way to keep running and doing your thing! And if you find the magic laundry folding machine, let me know! 😉

My wishful world would involve a lot of injury free running and racing!

I so get the big dreams that sometimes our bodies don’t always agree with. Thinking of you and sending you healing vibes.

Oh my that video was cute….and his final dismount pose was great!

My “Wishful world” would be……No work. I would volunteer some, work out some, go to lunch some, be the regular mom doing laundry, cleaning the house etc….and eat a DQ Blizzard every day until I can’t eat them any more AND doing so with out gaining any weight but only muscle!!!

Is that my wishful world or dream world? Probably the same thing…neither are reality.

    Kristen says:

Wishful world? Right now there are some possible big changes coming- or not. I’m not entirely sure what I want and I’m trying really hard to leave it up to God and not overanalyze things or get obsessive. I guess my wishful world is to not mess up the plan?

If I could have my way, I’d get to hang out with you in the real worlds ALL the time. And do ALL the aerobics 🙂
