This Week in Review

This Week in Review

It’s so darn close. Tomorrow is the official start to summer. I’ve been in survival mode once again this week. I haven’t wanted to think about anything too much, just get through it. I did get a little teary-eyed today to some students and when I dropped the boys off for their last day of preschool. I’m planning on giving myself some down time starting tomorrow to just take it all in and really relax the first few days of summer.

So let’s just do a little fun week in review.

Frieda’s just rocks. We love them and all they do. Here’s their latest newsletter and since they talk about purple asparagus, they give this old STUFT Mama lady a shout out. How nice, huh? Check it out.

I didn’t get purple asparagus with my recent produce goodies package, but I did get white asparagus.

White Asparagus

· Good source of vitamins A and C.

· Delicate flavor. Peel the stem well. The skin is thicker than the green ones.

· Grown without sunlight (vampire!) so it never develops the green coloration.

· Info: http://www.friedas.com/white-asparagus/

I also got some Belgian Endive.

I went to a fancy shmancy baby shower awhile ago and they served cut up endive with hummus so I copied the idea. I haven’t tried roasting them yet though so I might have to give that whirl.

I got my hands on some Ghost Chilis too though.

Mmmm hmm……

STUFT Daddy has an amazing garden and brings home zucchini for me when I beg. I’ve been doing some begging.

This whole zoodle making business is going to get serious again.

So much fun right? Oh man we’re going to get creative with zoodles in the next few weeks.

I’m not sure if you can really tell what’s going on here in this picture, but I always get a little assistance at 4:30 am when I’m getting the coffee maker set.

Lovely.

I also get assistance at night when I’m reading the boys their bedtime story.

I’ve run 35 miles so far this week (2 10 milers, a 7 and an 8). All of them have been in the early morning hours on the treadmill watching chick flicks and/or Sex and the City.

Can you guess this movie?

Today’s run was supposed to be an interval one, but I talked myself out of it and just forced myself to stay on the treadmill. I’m not going to be hard on myself this week. Any miles are good in my book.

One more day of 4:30 am wake ups. Woot.

Oh and Pro Compression has a really cool giveaway going on on Instagram right now for low socks (the ones I wear daily). Check it out here.

I wore these Lorna Jane capris the other day to give a little message to my students and to my people in my KettleWorx class.

I think my little plan worked, but I’m not totally sure. Ha ha.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon is this weekend. Kind of funny that I really thought I’d be there again this year to redeem myself from last year’s performance. Life has taken so many turns since then.

This year sporting the shirt and drinking extra Vega protein mochas made with Vega One mocha powder and Silk cashewmilk will have to do.

I taught spin tonight. I don’t think I’ve ever taught a class without walking out totally drenched afterwards. I sweat all over my handy notebook this evening. I’m not really sure how to avoid that.

2015-06-11 18.35.45-1

I took my sweaty self to the boys’ soccer game afterwards. People sitting by me were so lucky. Ha ha.

Here are a couple of songs I just recently added to my spin playlist for class. I haven’t shared songs forever so it’s about time, right?

Love them all.

And that’s wrap. One more day.

Here’s a little motivation to kick off the weekend for you.

Oops. Kidding. Wrong picture.

I meant to share this one from Momentum Jewelry on instagram the other day.

Like the time there?

Let’s turn our can’ts into cans and use our dreams to make big BIG plans. Yes?

Have a good Friday and a great weekend. Yay! I can’t wait to start this ultimate summer staycation. Holy smokes. The boys and I have a very long list of things that we need to do.

What would be on the top of your list to do for a staycation?

OR

What are you most looking forward to do this summer?

    Hooray for summer!

I’m really excited for this summer – we’re moving (on Monday!) into an old farmhouse and remodeling it. It’s going to be a little crazy, but a lot of fun! 🙂

I am so jealous right now of all that zucchini!!!! I absolutely LOVE zucchini everything and there is nothing like it straight from the garden……I don’t have room for a garden….and I don’t like dealing with all the bugs but I really don’t like buying the little zucchini’s at the grocer either…….time to hit up the Farmer’s Markets again!!!!
