Star Socks, Pajamas and Flip Flops



(That was “hello” from the cats I guess. Well, hopefully it was “hello” and not something else. Ha ha.)

I subbed a chiseled class at the gym earlier today and am going to attempt a yoga class here in a bit. I didn’t run, but might try to fit one in before yoga. If not, then I’ll do a couple extra miles tomorrow. I’m kind of nervous about the yoga class. It’s an hour and fifteen minutes and I don’t do well with any kind of yoga that lasts longer than 10 minutes. We’ll see if I can stay focused. Ha.

I’m hoping to get a pair for the Peachtree Road Race with Mizuno since it’s on the 4th. I’m sure I’ll need some long socks since it’s in Atlanta and all and I’m sure it won’t be too hot or anything. Ha ha.


One of our summer rules is to declare at least one day a week as a rest day/pajama day.

Friday, June 19th is National Flip Flop Day. When I was going to school to get my teaching credential my friends would always make fun of my because I would only wear flip flops. Our classes were at night and there were many nights when it was raining, but I still only wore flip flops. Now that I think about it actually, that was pretty much the majority of my high school, college and post college days.

It’s a bit different now, but if I’m not teaching or running I’m wearing the most comfortable shoes ever.

    1 hour and 15 minutes of yoga?! Wow. Let me know how that goes. LOL. Yes, I am the only female possibly in the Seattle area that hates yoga. Bless it I have tried. I hear it is good for you though. 🙂

    I thought about the ProCompression for Peachtree too.
    Then realized it will be like, real feel 110, and decided against it.
    It has been brutal here in the south this week. Hope it gets a bit better before the race.

    Hope you’ve enjoyed your yoga class today– yoga is one of my favorite ways to sweat! I’ve been to classes ranging from 1-2 hours and even a yoga expo which included ~4 hours of stretching from at temperatures room temperature to 105F for Bikram yoga. Best advice for yoga? Just breathe and don’t compare yourself to anyone else in the room– we all have different bodies, different experiences, different injuries, so not everyone’s postures are going to be the exact same.

    Yoga? Not for me – I’m too uncoordinated. Flip flops? Not for me – I have runners’ toes – eek. But those mini-me’s look tasty. And that cat greeting – well, I’m fluent in cat keyboard crossing, and you really don’t want to know what it means…
