(That was “hello” from the cats I guess. Well, hopefully it was “hello” and not something else. Ha ha.)

I subbed a chiseled class at the gym earlier today and am going to attempt a yoga class here in a bit. I didn’t run, but might try to fit one in before yoga. If not, then I’ll do a couple extra miles tomorrow. I’m kind of nervous about the yoga class. It’s an hour and fifteen minutes and I don’t do well with any kind of yoga that lasts longer than 10 minutes. We’ll see if I can stay focused. Ha.

Just in case you want to know how to properly drink from a park drinking fountain, here you go.

Just in case you missed the Pro Compression Sock of the Month email, here you go. Check out the 4th of July sock.

I’m hoping to get a pair for the Peachtree Road Race with Mizuno since it’s on the 4th. I’m sure I’ll need some long socks since it’s in Atlanta and all and I’m sure it won’t be too hot or anything. Ha ha.

One of our summer rules is to declare at least one day a week as a rest day/pajama day.

It might just be our favorite day of the week.

Since we already ate our way through these MiniMe’s snacks we got the other week, they might just be our favorite snack.

They’re dangerous friends.

In other news, I’m obsessed with this Vega Maca powder and throw it in random things throughout the day.

Friday, June 19th is National Flip Flop Day. When I was going to school to get my teaching credential my friends would always make fun of my because I would only wear flip flops. Our classes were at night and there were many nights when it was raining, but I still only wore flip flops. Now that I think about it actually, that was pretty much the majority of my high school, college and post college days.

It’s a bit different now, but if I’m not teaching or running I’m wearing the most comfortable shoes ever.

Anyhoo….

since Friday is National Flip Flop Day and all I was sent these awesome Vionic Flip Flops.

Here’s the details about why these are not your average flip flops.

Traditional flip-flops are notoriously bad for people and are flat as a board, which causes feet to flatten against their natural form. On the other hand, Vionic flip flops hug the arch of the foot for full support. With Vionic’s podiatrist-designed, supportive Orthaheel Technology, the gravitational forces that cause the arch of the feet to collapse can be reversed, raising them back into their neutral position helping to re-align the entire leg and preventing plantar fasciitis, so wearers can move to move dynamically in complete comfort as intended.

Vionic with Orthaheel Technology offers the ONLY sandals recommended by both the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and renowned integrative medicine doctor,Andrew Weil, MD. Vionic. Vionic is also endorsed by celebrity fitness trainer Juliet Kaska’s (clientele includes Kerry Washington, Ali Larter, Stacy Keibler, Pink, Kate Walsh and more).

My feet are super flat and anytime I can still get a little extra support without having to wear a full on shoe it’s just fabulous.

I chose these rhinestone ones to try to pretend to be fancy.

They’d probably look a little fancier without a sock tan and a rather lengthy second toe, but I’m working  with what I’ve got. (The whole longer second tow thing means you’re a leader by the way. Someone told me that way back when and I’m going with it.)

I’m finally working on a SUJA Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon recap post since it’s been almost three weeks. I’d say it’s about time, wouldn’t you?

Have a good one!

Feel free to pass along any yoga tips.

Are you celebrating National Flip Flop Day? What are your go to flip flops?

1 hour and 15 minutes of yoga?! Wow. Let me know how that goes. LOL. Yes, I am the only female possibly in the Seattle area that hates yoga. Bless it I have tried. I hear it is good for you though. 🙂

I thought about the ProCompression for Peachtree too.
Then realized it will be like, real feel 110, and decided against it.
It has been brutal here in the south this week. Hope it gets a bit better before the race.

Hope you’ve enjoyed your yoga class today– yoga is one of my favorite ways to sweat! I’ve been to classes ranging from 1-2 hours and even a yoga expo which included ~4 hours of stretching from at temperatures room temperature to 105F for Bikram yoga. Best advice for yoga? Just breathe and don’t compare yourself to anyone else in the room– we all have different bodies, different experiences, different injuries, so not everyone’s postures are going to be the exact same.

Yoga? Not for me – I’m too uncoordinated. Flip flops? Not for me – I have runners’ toes – eek. But those mini-me’s look tasty. And that cat greeting – well, I’m fluent in cat keyboard crossing, and you really don’t want to know what it means…
