Nut Butter, Cool For School and 11 Years

Yesterday’s workout was a short little round of medicine ball stair runs and some strength work outside in the hot sun and then a little treadmill run later on.

I didn’t get out there until in the middle of the day and about 5 of these down and ups and I was already breathless and sweating bullets. I managed a total of 20 stair laps and then moved on to burpees, lunges and some other strength training moves.

This morning it was a quick treadmill run early in the morning followed by some strength and balance training on the BOSU and the new Multi-Gym.

I have to schedule strength time in because if I don’t that’s the first that gets bumped. It’s so important though so I make it a date on my calendar.

We go through nut butter around here like it’s going out of style. Seriously. Our favorites that are consumed daily are SunButter and NuttZo (peanut free is my favorite). The boys have been having two sandwiches a day for lunch.

I really can’t blame them for their requests. I get on certain kicks too and want them every single day. I just hope they don’t get sick of them before school starts because that might just be our go to lunch for school. Oh, which reminds me, they have these new SunButter single serving canisters now at Target.

I love these things and anytime nut butter comes in a portion control container it’s a bit better for me since my servings are always about double what they should be. Ha.

Speaking of, I eat at least a serving of NuttZo at some point of another so empty jars are a frequent happening around here. So I  got clever and took my same coffee drink I’ve been having and put it in an empty NuttZo jar to try to be cool.

I mean, if that doesn’t just scream “I am so cool” I don’t know what does. Kidding.

Speaking of being cool, we had a big night the other night as it was our 20th high school reunion. I actually had to put on a dress.

Ha ha.

This guy was the cool guy in high school.

Yes, we went to the same high school and graduated the same year. No, we never dated then. (I wasn’t cool enough for him. Ha.)

Friday just so happened to also be our 11th wedding anniversary.

How nice of them to schedule our reunion on our special day.

Seriously though, where has the time gone?

I’m so darn lucky. I mean this guy is my best friend. He is my world and I can’t thank him enough for everything he does day in and day out and for his support through all my crazy escapades. He is THE BEST!

Last year on our anniversary I got the awesome (or not so awesome really) news about the whole pituitary tumor thing. I feel like this whole past year since then has just been one heck of a roller coaster with so many different ups and downs. Holy smokes. I really am so thankful for the place I’m at right now. It’s taken a long time to get here and man did I have to do some serious soul searching over the past year.

School is starting way too soon and I want to make sure I take full advantage of the rest of the summer, especially our family time. I’m taking a few days to be on staycation with the entire family and to keep working on being that better wife and mama I need to be. I want to soak up every single minute because this guy is off for the week. Some serious family time is on. We’ve all been counting down the days until Daddy’s vacation.

So we’ll see you in a bit. We still have a few things left to mark off on our summer bucket list. Anyone else?
